Independence of Seas wifi

Recommended Posts

I think that the issue with speed also has a lot to do with capacity of the WI FI system to accommodate the demand, especially with some of the new unlimited packages being offered. The Concierge on a recent cruise indicated there were some spots where the wireless performance was better than in the staterooms. And the better response of the machines would support that, since those are wired machines, not wireless.

None the less, while we were in port in San Juan recently, i had a chance to compare a connection through the shipboard wifi in my stateroom and my Sprint Aircard, and the Aircard was definitely much faster.

Keep in mind, we were in port, so there should not have been much demand for the ships system.

BTW, at home, and can see no difference between my cable connection ( Comcast in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl) and my Aircard, and i do not even see a 4G indication on the aircard.
