DimSum Posted May 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2015 Has anyone recently been on the Sky and used the kids program? Just wondering how the program was and if your kids liked it. I have 2 kids (7 and 9) cruising for the 1st time so I'm not sure if it's worth the time to let them try it.

aquarianne11 Posted May 26, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2015 We were on the Sky last December. My daughter (7 years old) attended the kids club every night of the cruise. She really had fun. They have different themes everyday. The area that they use is nice and very colorful. They also have windows where you can see what the kids are doing. firefighter15 Posted August 1, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2015 so do they have them for a certain period of time, can we drop them off and come pick them up at various points of the day? any more details would be appreciated.
cadien Posted August 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) The timing is the same on most ships. They're open 8-12, 2-5, and 7-10. After 10:00, there's a fee. You can pick them up and drop them off at any time they're open. They are open on port days, although some posts say they're not. You do have to pay for lunch and dinner on port days if they're in the club at meal time. Edited August 1, 2015 by cadien
DimSum Posted August 3, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted August 3, 2015 We were recently on the Sky in June 2015 and did the 4 day/5 night cruise. We did sign up our kids (7yo and 9 yo) for the Splash Academy. They were in the Seals group for 6 to 9 year olds. We received the activities sheet for the times they were open and the type of activities for each day. I still have the information sheet, I just need to figure out how to upload to CC. If is free to sign up and attend the Academy. However, they do charge if you want them to provide a meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner); $6 per child. Otherwise they are closed during meal times. Also, if you want the kids to stay after 10:30pm, there is a charge. It's $6/hour if they stay after 10:30pm til close (which is 1:30am) My daughter was attended on night; it was Hurray for Hollywood. It was a Hollywood theme. She liked it and made a couple of friends. My son attended the Spy Night. He said it was fun but I don't remember what he did. The Academy did seem busy however the activities personnel seemed to get the kids to play and enjoy the time there. There is a window for you to observe what they are doing. Hope this helps. CardFanDubG Posted August 10, 2015 #10 Share Posted August 10, 2015 Thank you DimSum. It looks as if my 8 year old grandson will have a great time. Does anyone have the flyer for the next age up. Have 11 year old grandson and grand-daughter? I am sure they will also have a great time but I am curious. It will be their first cruise.
Rare mitsugirly Posted August 10, 2015 #11 Share Posted August 10, 2015 We were on the Sky in November and the kids loved it. Although I don't think there has been a kids club on any of the NCL ships that mine didn't like. They run all the programs the same and have different themes every day. The only difference with the Sky (since it's a shorter cruise and not 7 days) is that they don't do the circus show performance at the end of the cruise in the theater for the parents. Other than that, it's basically the same as the other ships. :)
