britannia Posted April 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2004 We have kids ranging from 17 to 20 and are thinking of going on Golden Princess round Southern Caribbean. Does this ship attract lots of young people? I have been on Royal Caribbean, Brilliance of the Seas and Grandeur. How do they compare with each other? I'd be very grateful if anyone can give me some help?
sue d. miller Posted April 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2004 It depends on the kids, The ages on Princess span from young to old. The longer the cruise. the older the age becoms. If the kids are very active and enjoyed the rock wall and skating and parades, maybe RC is better for them. Princess has lots of shows, comedians, basketball courts, but not alot of strenuous activity. And still alot of fun. Our 17 yr. old grandaughter had a blast on our last cruise. mringenoldus Posted April 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I agree with Sue. We took that age group and a bit older on RCCL AOS and they had a terrific time. I suppose it would depend on the time of year you are traveling and the percentage of young folks on the Princess ship. dcourt Posted April 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I am bringing my 16 year old son on a cruise to the Exotic Southern Carib. in November during the week of Thanksgiving and the following week. It's a 10 night cruise on the Dawn. I am hoping that there will be some older kids too! I guess we will just have to wait and see. Good luck!! CruiseFever Posted April 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I agree with Sue too. On our Golden cruise last month, during Spring break, there were lots of teens and young adults. I know that for some younger cruisers the 18 year old drinking age for beer and wine on RCCL is attractive.
