Real Texas holdem is played at specific times for tournaments. The nightly Texas holdem table has been replaced with Ultimate Texas Holdem. When they introduced that game I stopped playing.

Not sure about Allure, I just got off the Freedom and I had heard there were only the electronic poker tables. I was surprised to see an actual table with a dealer running a 1-3 NL Holdem game. He said they have it going as long as there are 4 or more interested players.

 

After 10pm or so the nights I was there it as going. Crazy 10% rake though. That's ridiculous so I didn't play that much.

UTH is only played against the dealer - not the other players. We play it a lot - Mr Wolf especially. But then he has NO poker face so he gets killed at the "real" game. :D

 

As the previous poster said, on all the ships we've been on the "real" hold em has only been played when there are enough interested players. I would bet (heh heh) that you just need to express interest to the casino host and they will contact all interested players to set it up.

We played lots of hold-em last June on the Allure, cash and tournaments. Lots of players on our cruise. It is electronic tables but otherwise it's the real deal. Enjoy your cruise.

also i notice in a compass sombody kindly posted that there was a number of tournaments on diffrent days but at least 1 a day does anybody know how many runners, buy ins and prize pool

 

not sure i will be allowed to get away any way so it may be mute

 

but if your on from the 4th Oct and feel like a game look me up
