We used a car service to take us down to the terminal. Cape Liberty has really changed from last June 2014. You drive up, pull over, signal for a porter. They come over and take bags you want them to take. You then walk thru one main set of doors. Suites to the left, all other categories to the right. We were in a Royal Suite. We were met by a greeter who took us over to a desk where an attendant waits for you to due the processing. The Captains club rep introduced herself to us, gave DW a long stem red rose and escorted us through a door that had a long hall leading to the escalator. Took all of 5 minutes. We used the elevator because my DW uses a walker. Went over a small gang plank and we were on the ship. They offered us champagne, they had tables set up with other items, but before we could see what they were we were escorted to Michael's club.

Michael's club was great. A great bar with beers ordered ahead when the concierge e-mailed us prior to the cruise. We were escorted to Luminae for lunch before going to our cabin. Luminae, a WONDERFUL experience. Ambiance, food and service top of the line. The announcement was made that our rooms were ready, so we headed up there. All luggage was at the door. We were let in by our butler Jose. He explained how everything worked in the room, explained his service to us. We gave him our requests and there after till we disembarked our experience in a Royal Suite was beyond wonderful. Want to mention Bernadeth/room steward and Cassanova..such very nice people. Every night we had a towel animal left for us with two pieces of chocolate. Was really very nice touch.

3:15 was life boat drill. Once done the cruise was on. We were not able to go to Cruise critic sail away nor were we able to attend CC meet and greet because of invites to different activities. Wish we were able to meet you all. Sorry!

We spent a lot of time in Michael's. Met a lot of nice people, met the Officer's. All very friendly and quite gentlemanly. Luminae: can't say enough good things about it. Bistro on 5 was delicious. Normandy, sorry, not as good as Luminae but still give it a 9.5. Qsine is still a very fun place to eat. I don't care if there is only two or ten people, food is great! I can't comment on the different bars as my beer was always in a cooler in my room.

Bermuda: BEAUTIFUL at all times.

I have to say there was a medical emergency on board Friday night. We experienced two men that were not compassionate about what happened, they were grossly put out that they had to move quickly to give way for the medics. It was very sad. Though when the captain announced that we were speeding up to get back to port and O neg. blood was needed I was told that at least 45 people showed up to volunteer. Our prayers are with the family. No information was given as to the condition of the patient.

The staff were all great on this cruise..but I have to say that there were many pax who pushed, used vulgarity, forced there way onto elevators causing injuries to people. I overheard two people asking the staff if they are getting credit because of us getting to NJ before time. We have never experienced this behavior from pax. We did book next years cruise on Summit to Bermuda, but if this is going to be the standard behavior of a good number of pax...??? They were an awful lot of nasty, nasty, people. Not Celebrity's fault!

We were on this cruise too and enjoyed it very much. We too had Bernadeth and Cassanova as our room stewards, and the towel animals every night made me smile. Our butler was Su...she was a delight. Always willing to assist with reservations or anything else. When we were not in our cabin for afternoon tea, she made sure to leave scones for us.

I think NJ gets a bad rap sometimes. I live here, and yes, there are plenty of rude people. I have been on many cruises that have left from other ports and found just as many rude people. I think that is just a fact of life when you have a large number of folks in a "confined" space. I did overhear stories of fights at the pool over chairs, but luckily did not experience any of that myself. I think it is inexcuseable for anyone getting upset or put out due to a medical emergency. I think there was more than one on this cruise. And I think they airlifted the critically ill passenger off some time in the middle of the night. I could have been imagining it, but I thought I heard a helicopter. And we did not dock in Bayonne until around 6:30-6:45am....normal time.

I agree with everything that was said about the food. Luminae was a wonderful addition to my cruise experience. This was my first time in a suite and it will be hard to go back to anything else. The weather in Bermuda was as good as it can get, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

The shows were very good. Especially the acappella group Voice Play. I even broke down and bought a CD. If given the opportunity, I have no doubt I would sail the Summit to Bermuda again. :)

You can take a taxi or book car service. It is not that far from the airport to the cruise terminal.

What time did you arrive at the terminal? What time were you allowed on board? What time were you allowed into your room? Just curious. We'd like to arrive as early as possible to enjoy the ship/room.

We sailed on May 24th. We arrived at the terminal at 10:00 AM. We checked right in and boarded around 10:30 AM. We were not allowed into our rooms until 1:15 PM.

I was on the Summit trip in may. The rudest person I ever meet came from Texas so you really can not make blanket statements implying where rude people come from.

I'll be on the Summit 9th August with my brother. I promise we'll be nice. :D

Disclaimer: I live in Texas, but I'm from Miami Beach. Maybe that has something to do with me being nice.

Anne Maria did you guys eat in the MDR on embarkation day? I've read elsewhere that it's open on the summit.

Hi,

Arrived at 11am. Was on the ship no more than 10 minutes later. Cabins don't open up until approx. 1pm or a little later. Hope this helps. I do know that Celebrity requests you arrive a certain time per your stateroom, but what I heard from other pax, the request is not set in stone.

Yes Sarah, it was great to sit down and have a nice relaxed meal in the MDR. Note: it's only open until 1:30 PM. David the Restaurant Manager said they had started it in April and it was working out well.

Unfortunately my husband had his new Yankee Cap on and took it off when we entered the MDR. He put it on his knee while we sat and ate. He obviously forgot it was there and we left the MDR without it. We asked at Guest Relations all week if someone turned in a Yankee Cap. They said no. It had to have fallen under the table. I guess one of the crew has a nice new Yankee Cap.

When are you sailing?

In August. Glad to hear it is open. We love having lunch in the MDR on sea days so this will be an added bonus to also enjoy it embarkation day.

If I see any crew w/ a Yankees hat I'll be sure to grab it from them LOL :p
