Those free cruises really exist

I was told from Michael at the players club that if you lose $1500.00 on a cruise you will receive a free inside cabin and a drink card for that cruise.

My wife and I play nothing but blackjack and only one of us buys in or cashes out to get the most bang for our buck towards that $1500.00 m

One last thing, it is not a free cruise, it is a free cabin. There is still port taxes, tips and insurance to buy.

Thanks for the info

We only play blackjack. It is very easy to keep track of winnings and losses on table games.

When you sit down you hand the dealer your sail and sign card and either money or chips from prior play. The dealer then "logs' you in at what seat your are sitting at and how much you bought in for. When you leave they log you out. When you go to the cage to cash out they know you lost "X" amount of money or won "X" amount of money. It is all tied together by computers.

I would think when it comes to machines it is even easier since you have to put in your sail and sign card for any type of comp or when you cash out (leave the machine) it is all tracked by a computer. IOW you have to have your card in the machine if you want to be rated. Believe me they know exactly how much you buy in for and how much you leave with, how long you played and at what denomination your bets were.

As far as drink cards go I am very familiar with how they work.

To the penny on slot machines....I mean to the PENNY! LOL

It is when you spend $1500.00 doing something you enjoy doing. I will gamble the way I do no matter what so a "free" anything is just icing on the cake. Not to mention many, many free drinks in the casino.

Quite honestly $1500.00 is less than we budget per day.

To us it is no different than going offshore fishing for a day and spending the same king of money or going to Disney for a week and spending the same kind of money. Gambling is what we enjoy doing. Disney and my charter captain have never offered me a free anything.

BUT then for another $700 he gets the Grand Suite or Captain's Suite. Total of $2300 for a Grand Suite. Or Cap. Suite. I would stretch and pay.......just once. Just to see.

I have done it, fantastic room..but..way too much movement is felt and it takes forever to get anywhere because it seems very crowded up there.

Once for the experience, $1400 for me and my son for his 21st birthday, he got to act like a bigshot with all the friends he made that week and he had a bday to remember, worth every penny IMHO.

I can tell you that playing in the casino for the journey cruises had to play no part in who got and who didn't. My friends who i cruise with all the time and they never take one step into the casino on any of the cruises we have been on got the offer! I'm so jealous. I really would love to take that 10 day cruise on the Pride from San Juan to Baltimore next January. Oh well i stick with my 7 day cruise in February 2016 that i happen to win from a land base casino. I also did actually get an offer from Carnival early this year (my first) for a casino offer and will be taking that in 16 days. Oh well i guess i'll wait to see if i ever get another offer.

Just booked my January Southern Caribbean too. Got the French door balcony and, with cabin credit, just paying taxes and port fees for the cruise itself. We gamble very little but have spent quite a bit on photos several years back (got married on the ship).

Anyway- I am one of those who never thought I would get one of these offers so wishing good luck to those still waiting.

I do not gamble and do not spend much on my cruises and got this offer yesterday.

Did you have a cruise already booked when you got this deal??? Just wondering, my DH and I always have one or two cruises booked ahead. Wonder if that's the reason we've NEVER gotten anything??

I have never received a free cruise offer, either. I don't gamble at all so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I have cruised 17 times with Carnival since 1996 and have 3 booked for 2015/16, and I admit I am jealous of those who receive these free cruises! I just experienced something that made me really angry with Carnival, though. My sister wanted a quick getaway for her birthday so we were looking at a short cruise on the Fascination for July. We were both looking at booking options while on the phone (she lives in a different state) and she had prices that were considerably lower than prices that were showing up for me. We booked under a VIFP club offer she was given that was like $50 less per person than anything I was offered, so Carnival is luring infrequent cruisers with lower rates, too.

This really pissed me off! I guess they figure since I cruise so much then they can rip me off for more money. I am not loyal to any cruise line, but Carnival often wins out based on price and port location. I know it is a business decision on Carnival's part, but this just rubbed me the wrong way.

I do not have any other cruises booked with Carnival. I do mock bookings often to see what is out there. It seems that the 2 offers that I have received like this follow when I have been aggressively looking at Carnival but not booking. I do have a cruise booked with NCL for next year.

That's what everyone should be doing....booking on a competitor. Seems to be no "rhyme or reason" for their poor marketing ploy....the freebies are not always based on casino play or on board spending.....if you read the posts from those who have received them.....and especially those who have received MULTIPLE free offers....OUCH in a big way to the rest of us loyal cruisers!

They sometimes offer promotions to different states. this could be why your sister had the offer and you didn't.

That's what I thought at first, but we booked under a VIFP club special offer that she had. I did a mock booking with our different states and while there was a resident rate for her state, the VIFP rate she booked us under was considerably less. She last cruised Carnival Jan 2014.
