amsred2 Posted June 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) If you have FTTF and boarding is already in progress, do you go to the front of the line? Edited June 13, 2015 by amsred2

CRU1Z1N Posted June 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Most ports I've embarked on had a separate line for FTTF Edited June 13, 2015 by CRU1Z1N
Out to sea! Posted June 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Yes. You get a priority boarding card instead of a numbered boarding card and you'll walk right on board.
Retired_to_Cruise Posted June 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Don't they send you through the priority security line and then the priority boarding lounge to get your Sail and Sign Card like they do with the Platinums and Diamonds? Vitamin_Sea Posted June 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Don't they send you through the priority security line and then the priority boarding lounge to get your Sail and Sign Card like they do with the Platinums and Diamonds? Did FTTF once, didnt get a lounge. I think only plat/Dia get that.
HawkIVette Posted June 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Yes.Not quite that simple, but correct. Yes. You get a priority boarding card instead of a numbered boarding card and you'll walk right on board.after you get your Sail & Sign Don't they send you through the priority security line and then the priority boarding lounge to get your Sail and Sign Card like they do with the Platinums and Diamonds? This is the most accurate statement so far. It's much faster but you still may wait in a line a bit before S & S and getting on the ship (photo line). Retired_to_Cruise Posted June 13, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 13, 2015 For some reason or other, the Breeze was strange the last two times we were on it (Jan 2015 and May 2015. We got to the port about 10:30. Had to sit in a Queue in the lounge to get to the desk, and then had to sit in the lounge waiting room after getting S&S card until 12:15 pm before we finally started boarding the ship. After getting off in May it because obvious why. Many people did not pay any attention to the debark sequences or tags being called. This caused a backup on the escalators, and a big line at Customs. People without their luggage were getting off during self-debark (before any tag numbers were called) and complaining to the port people that their luggage was not not there. This also made lines on escalators and elevators longer than they should have been. Overall this makes the whole debark process last until almost 11:30 am. Needs to be fixed, but you cannot fix people who don't listen or think they have a better idea for getting off the ship.
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted June 13, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 13, 2015 Charleston has a priority line to get ss card, but they only have one security line for everyone to wait on, with no front of live privileges. Jacksonville has a separate line for both. The procedures vary port to port. Op, where are you doing out of? Hopefully someone here will post their fttf experience from that port. We'll be finding out the Tampa procedures in aug!
BigRed93 Posted June 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 13, 2015 In some ports the FTTF have a section of the main check in counter allotment to them. So you are not using the diamond/platinum lounge, you have your own line, you are helped only behind other FTTF people and as soon as you get your card you walk right on. erby2283 Posted June 14, 2015 #11 Share Posted June 14, 2015 When I sailed out of Tampa and had FTTF, our boarding was delayed b/c they were setting up the Christmas decorations. The line outside the terminal was very long. As soon as we got inside and got through security and got to the first Carnival Representative, she basically took us by the hand to the front of the line and the very next check-in that opened up, she escorted us to. At other ports, there have been separate lines and separate waiting areas, away from the weddings and diamond/platinum members if you arrive before boarding begins. You will board after they do. douglinc@msn.com Posted June 14, 2015 #12 Share Posted June 14, 2015 We have been Platinum for quite some time so it doesn't affect us, but if we weren't, I don't think I would spend the extra money to get on the ship 10 minutes quicker. Seems like a waste of money to me.
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted June 15, 2015 #13 Share Posted June 15, 2015 We had FTTF twice. In Charleston, it probably saved us 15-20 min. In Jacksonville, my parents, who did not have FTTF, got to the terminal a good 20 minutes before us (but after boarding started), but we were on board the ship at least 20 min before them. So, FTTF got us on board at 45 maybe 60 minutes faster.
Out to sea! Posted June 16, 2015 #14 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Don't they send you through the priority security line and then the priority boarding lounge to get your Sail and Sign Card like they do with the Platinums and Diamonds? They didn't for me in Miami. May be different at other ports.

Seems like a waste of money to me. If that were the only thing involved with FTTF then I would probably agree with you. But since that is about 1 out of 10 different privileges that come with FTTF your statement is inaccurate.

jandb6266 Posted June 16, 2015 #17 Share Posted June 16, 2015 For me the most important thing about FTTF is being able to go to your cabin as soon as you board. Every time I have used FTTF which is three times when I have arrived at my cabin my luggage is there. That is better than lugging your carryon luggage all over LIDO. Not coumting the line at GS. HAPPY SAILING!!!
