teajak Posted September 19, 2005 #26 Share Posted September 19, 2005 We are going on the Constellation on Thursday of next week. 13 days in Canada New England. Cannot wait. I am extremely civilized, care to join us? :D Oh, and I booked only 9 months in advance, watched my fare go down and then up, snagged the lowest price. I am in CC and will enjoy the damned pillow menu and the pillow top mattress and duvet. I paid for them and will not demand that I get a butler to boot. PS: I can well afford my own tote bags(leather even) and do not need anyone else's logo on them to make me feel like I am important. The champagne is not champagne as I have been informed here, but it is a nice guesture on the part of the cruiseline and I will drink it with a smile and gratitude that I do not have to rinse out the glass. Wow would I ever like to cruise with you. I totally agree with both of your posts. This pettiness is ridiculous. Last time I looked you have free choice in selecting a cruise so pick whatever makes you happy, I do and it is Celebrity. Just my humble opinion. EmJakeBubbie Posted September 19, 2005 #27 Share Posted September 19, 2005 last cruise was a reunion cruise w/Celebrity, conceirege class, only our 4th cruise w/Celebrity - perks each and every night! (t-shirts, tote bags, candy, etc.etc.) I was stunned that on our 4-nt SOS cruise last week, RCI sent us a gift -- an appropriately sized canvas tote bag. We hardly paid enough for this cruise and here comes a gift! I'm certain I "paid for" this bag with my casino donations!:(
tbelian Posted September 19, 2005 #28 Share Posted September 19, 2005 Since I am a share holder in RCCL - I have the right to bitch. and since I am C&A Diamond And Celebrity Elite I have a right to compare afinity programs and like many posters try to enlighten management that they need to keep loyal passengers loyal even if it is by a marketing ploy cuz as good as Celebrity is - all it takes is one bad experience and someone will say - well I vote with my pocket book and Celebrity will never know why. If you are operating under the presumption that posting this information here is enlightening management, you are mistaken (IMO). As a shareholder you would be better off going to the shareholder meeting and asking to be heard there. Not to say that posting is wrong, or dont post, by all means do, but, those that believe this would really make a difference in the way things are done are misinformed, and perhaps misled by the notion that message board posts have much of an impact on the way companies do business. Rumor has it that RCCL execs sometimes read the boards. Obviously not frequently enough. I doubt standing on a soapbox at a shareholder's meeting would change their mind either. But if many squeaky wheels speak out maybe just maybe someone in marketing might get the hint. What I suspect though is that upper management is very well insulated either by choice or because an underling thinks the boss doesn't want to hear "petty complaints" Sometime when you have nothingbetter to do - read Bob Townsend's book Up the Organization. It should be mandatory reading for any CEO
