cruiseaddictColleen Posted June 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Hello....We always book our cruises through CAS & may go to Bermuda this summer with my son & his girlfriend. My question is if they were to share a room with my husband & I will they receive a drink card? When calling CAS the rep. said they are doing away with the entire cabin getting drink cards so she couldnt tell me for sure. Does anyone have any information on this that has just recently returned. Thanks! Edited June 15, 2015 by cruiseaddictColleen
Nola26 Posted June 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 15, 2015 My CAS offer was for a cruise for two so that's how many drink cards we'll get. I suppose if your offer is for 4 people and the card is part of the offer you'll get 4. If you're getting offers like that you've probably already get free drinks due to your player card level. spidybabe Posted June 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Sailing thru CAS in 2012 our DD and BFF - who were in their own cabin- got drink cards too. Sailing thru CAS in 2013 our DD and fiancé-who were in their own cabin- did not get drink cards. DH gambling had increased from 2012 (1 cruise) to 2013 (3 cruises)...pretty much tripled. I don't gamble, but have always gotten the card too. Changes have been happening all along...more rapidly now tho Safe (lucky) sailing Edited June 16, 2015 by spidybabe
clcjdn Posted June 16, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2015 If the comp is for an ocean view, can't you just get the UBP? If not, only people in the same cabin get the on us card.
GoAndHaveFun Posted June 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2015 I got a drink card on the Pearl last week just cuz my parents booked thru CAS despite I don't really gamble all that much (tho playing the coin machine is technically gambling). skierjj Posted June 16, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 16, 2015 We just got off the Sun June 1st. Yes we both got drink cards in our room in our room on the first day. My husband plays about 500% more than I do. One note: We were worried that on April 1st that they would "reset" his player card status back to "you're lucky". He achieved "you're hot" status on a 5 day cruise to Cabo in March. So we were happy that he had his red card in the room when we arrived. Harriet, how do you get a premium drink card in the casino? Do you have to be "golden" or "VIP"? Thanks

I was told on my most recent cruise that those with Lucky and Hot cards had to pay the difference for drinks that were over $5.00 and only Golden and VIP drinks were free. Alegeeter Posted June 16, 2015 #11 Share Posted June 16, 2015 I think it really depends on the ship and the sailing. When I booked my most recent trip, I was told we would receive drink cards for the first two passengers yet when we got to our stateroom we had four! Other times, however, we have only had two, as we were told. Perhaps it has to do with how many CAS guests there are on any particular sailing? Or maybe it has to do with the mood of the casino hosts this week. In any case, we were very appreciative of this extra gift!

Tracy I'm just lucky and I think it's a hit or miss because I asked for piña coladas in casino and no extra charge for anything ever. A friend who is hot was told they were charging her for coffee lol so crazy of course they were wrong with the coffee being charged. My sister who gambles very minimal had a lucky card and had a lot of drinks mostly vodka, cranberry and pineapple juice never charged. So it's like I said a hit or miss with your server. Do you have to be "golden" or "VIP"? Thanks We were on the Pearl the week of May 17th that my husband received from a land based casino (CET). Both of us had player cards and drink cards in our cabin upon arrival. I never had to pay for a drink in the casino, including frozen drinks, coffee and bottled water. But the type of liquor used was hit or miss. For example, I requested a gin and tonic, and the bartender poured Bombay Sapphire. The next day, again, I requested a gin and tonic, a different bartender poured Bombay and when he saw my drink card, put that drink aside and made another one with whatever house gin they had. I did find it strange that he would rather waste the first drink than serve it. But beyond that one incident, I didn't have any issues at all receiving drinks I requested. cruiseaddictColleen Posted June 16, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Thank you everyone for responding. I know for sure my husband & I will get our drink cards but was hoping the 3rd & 4th guest will also. I remember when I first started to book with CAS my second cabin booked would all get the drink cards regardless. How things have changed!:) Trying to save my son & his girlfriend some $$ by having them share a room with us....
