DallasGuy75219 Posted June 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Considering a manatee watching tour on our Belize stop next month, and I've found a couple online (Splash Wave Tours and also through ShoreExcursioneer). Does anyone have any recent experience/reviews/comments related to these or other manatee watching excursions?
Just_Beachy22 Posted July 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2015 I think we finally have narrowed our activity in belize to be the manatees as well. We dont go until Jan 2016 so please post a review if you decide to do it!
afto Posted August 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2015 We did an excursion a year and a half ago that stopped to see manatees at the mouth of the Belize River. They were all around us, but all we could see was the occasional nostril at the surface. This was part of an excursion that did a nature cruise on the river, Bacab park lunch, and also went to the zoo (which is really more of a wildlife rescue centre than a typical zoo). Great tour but although it was lovely to be in the presence of manatees, this was not the highlight of the day. I would not take a tour JUST to see manatees unless I was sure that the water in the viewing area was very clear.
