Rare electro Posted June 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2015 I was booked on the the Jewel Feb 21 in a deck10 Aft PH (SF). The cruise was cancelled by NCL and on the date I'd like to switch to, the SF is sold out. There are deck 10 SE, Fwd PH available. We love the aft bal but have never done a fwd. I know the Balconies are huge but are they usable with the wind? Has anyone done both? How would you compare them? Thanks Lois
spotfish Posted June 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 19, 2015 (edited) Dawn and Jewel class have pretty much the same forward suites http://boards.cruisecritic.com/search.php?searchid=72933540 Edited June 19, 2015 by spotfish
Redheel Girl Posted June 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2015 I have done both. I was in a PH AFT which I also love but I did enjoy the Forward PH! It was a Hoot during sailways because many time the other Forward PH would come out for sail away and it got to be a small club! As far as wind it would be windy gout to sea but you can set in you big lounger up by the Cabin and you would have no wind. I would do it again in a flash! rvsullivan Posted June 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2015 We sail exclusively in the forward suites when they are available! No better view anywhere on the ships, basically the same view the captain has. If you stand up at the rail you get whatever wind is coming over the bow, usually 20 mph or so. But, if you sit down, you still get the view but not the wind. Nothing nicer than waking up in the morning and looking forward. We certainly sit out there for cocktails and have had many meals there also.
