KizuriSeascape Posted June 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2015 My mother and I have just booked our first Disney Cruise (transatlantic). We're hoping to enjoy the adults only sections of the ship. I'm 30 but look far younger (I'm told! Sigh!). How are the adults only areas of the ship enforced? Will I need to carry ID with me or will a cruise card be fine? shellyc Posted June 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Your cruise card will be fine, it has a code on it that specifies you are an adult.
Ex techie Posted June 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Wow! and Congratulations at looking younger than 18 at 30! I wish I did! lol! In adult areas, or in areas that are designated adult only after 9pm you may be "carded" so expect that a lot if you look under 18! Your ship ID card that also opens your Stateroom has letter on it that lets them know if you are 18 or older, or over 21 on it for any bar tenders to allow them to serve you alcoholic beverages. ex techie
moki'smommy Posted June 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 20, 2015 As above, your card will be both coded with your date of birth (in the magnetic strip part) and labeled with an A for adult printed on the card. 18-20s have a B to indicate that they can be in adult areas but not purchase alcohol (except on European cruises with parental permission). 0-17s have an M for minor. Any CM can ask to see your card and know instantly that you are "of age."
