spannersmom Posted June 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2015 I realize the bathrooms in the balcony staterooms are smaller. How is the size of the rest of the stateroom compared to the mini-suites. Has anyone stayed in both and can compare the feeling of space? Did the balcony stateroom feel cramped. Thanks for any answers.
Rare mizLORInj Posted June 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) On Breakaway I don't find the minisuite to be noticeably larger than the balcony cabin. I'd cruise in either. As you mention, the size difference is in the bathroom. 2 of us did not feel cramped at all in the balcony cabin. spannersmom Posted June 21, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Thank you. We've always stayed in a mini but was wondering if we would really notice the difference. As my DH said-I don't cruise in the bathroom. LOL
Siora7777 Posted June 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2015 The only difference is the bathroom is larger. The room itself appeared, at least to me, to be the same size. I read somewhere that if the bed is by the balcony instead of the bathroom it makes the room appear more spacious. I think it's true.

Siora7777 Posted June 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) How does one know, or find out, which cabins have the bed by the balcony instead of the bathroom? Thang I ks. On the deck plans if the middle section caves in on the cabin, the bed is by the balcony. That's how it was on my getaway cruise cabin 8724. That's how I was able to tell before sailing and sure enough when I got to the ship, the bed was by the balcony. Breakaway class ships. geegee1 Posted June 22, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2015 We too only cruised use to sail in MS. This last year we stayed in a balcony. We did not notice any discernible difference, minus the size of the bathroom. I would book the balcony on Breakaway again without any hesitation. OriginalFlamingo Posted June 22, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 22, 2015 We stayed in a mini-suite last year on the Breakaway. We also did a cabin crawl. To me, the balcony cabin and the mini-suite look exactly the same, with the exception of the bathroom.
NauticalSmile Posted June 25, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 25, 2015 If you're comfortable taking a shower in a space portal in the balcony room I'd say go for it. If you want a shower with a bit more room go for the mini suite. It's a $400 more to do a split in a shower lmao
