Prepaid gratuities? Everyone in the cabin or...?

My friend would like to prepay her gratuities, I would not (I'll have shareholder credit which I'd rather use) - does everyone in the cabin (or no one in the cabin) have to or can she choose to while I choose not to?

Thanks!

I don't think this is true if you are on separate accounts. Just got off the Fantasy and I prepaid mine before My daughter prepaid hers.

As long as you have both paid your cruise on separate CC, one should be able to pay grats separately.

If only one of you paid the deposits for both, adding grats for only one could be a problem.

We always prepay. one less thing off my s&s. your going to pay it anyways. then use your shareholder for other great things :)

The shareholder credit conditions indicate that it can not be used for the casino or gratuities. I assume this applies to the daily room gratuity charges. Am I correct on this?

If you didn't check the box or elect to pay gratuities when you booked then neither of you have paid it yet. They will charge the acct once onboard. You can set up two different accts thru the online check-in or when you get to port and receive your S&S cards. Regardless of when you set up the accts, you will be charged separately. She can call at anytime and prepay her gratuities before sailing.

I believe you are correct. From the Carnival Shareholder Benefits terms and conditions:

This benefit is available to shareholders holding a minimum of 100 shares of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc. Employees, travel agents cruising at travel agent rates, tour conductors or anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from this offer. This benefit is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and, cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account. Only one onboard credit per shareholder-occupied stateroom.
