cessnabmw Posted July 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2015 We will be on the Carnival Sunshine in December (Journeys cruise) and have a day in Martinique from 8am - 6pm. 2 Adults and 2 Kids (8 & 10) We enjoy the beach, sight seeing, nature and food. We have previously been to St. Kitts (rented a car and drove all around the island), St Maarten (rented a car and drove all around the island). We are all physically able and want to make the most of the day here. What would you suggest to do? Rent a car? What places are a must see? We will be here on a Sunday.... Thanks! miss_cathy Posted November 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2015 Have you found the activity you were looking for in Martinique? Unfortunately, as it will be on a sunday, most shops will be closed in Fort-de-France. You may choose to take the ferry to Anse Mitan or pointe du Bout beaches (only a few minutes walking), it's approximately $10. There will also be taxis that can drive you to other beaches, to the Balata garden or to Saint-Pierre, the city that was destroyed by the volcano in 1902. Don't forget to negotiate the price. There is also a new company that proposes different food tours, it's Karambole Tours Martinique. You can find more information about them on Google. alicatNH Posted November 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2015 My husband and I will be on the same cruise. We are hoping to put together a group for a catamaran- The company is Kata-Mambo. http://kata-mambo.com/ It is a half day catamaran with lunch and snorkeling: "We propose a half day catamaran to discover the South Caribbean coast. Our catamaran will pick you up to the Cruise terminal. You will put on full sail to the South and fishing villages. You can admire the wonderful coves fringed with coconut palms: Anse Dufour, Anse noire and its ebony sand, Grand Anse d’Arlet, Petite Anse d’Arlet and of course the famous Diamond Rock. A swimming stop in hot and clear water will be suggested in order to explore the seabed and multicolored fauna; if you are patient you would be lucky to see some turtles. The catamaran will set a sail to return to the Cruise terminal. You will enjoy an open bar all through the excursion, we also offer a snack. The Tour time is about 3h30" The price is 45 Euros per person, 30 for kids 2-12. Anyone who is interested- please email me at alisonlyder@gmail.com so we can get this trip off the ground!
