We were on the same cruise with you. Did you have issues with your toilet not flushing and then it would flush minutes later? We did and we were talking to our steward when the room he was cleaning flushed behind him and he said "phew" and said their are issues with the system that they can't get to to fix.

Great cruise! Great review!

Yes we had that issue but I remember that on other cruises. I think it has something to do with the pressure having to build up or something.

thanks everyone for the refrigerator answers. I also thought that I read a review from someone on deck 1 inside that had a refrigerator. Maybe my mind is going? I will try to do another search.

thanks again

Go to cruisedeckplans dot com, find your ship and find the link that says something like "extra info provided by Carnival" (this may take some clicking around the site).

That should take you to a page that has another link that says "stateroom descriptions" or "cabins by deck" or something similar. Click your deck and then find your cabin. That will tell you pretty much exactly what is in there.

I love that site. There's also a "drag decks" option so you can see what's above and below you. I always use this before selecting a cabin to be sure I'm not under the galley or over a club/band location.

Great cruise! Great review!

We had that same problem on the Disney Dream last October..... So it's not only on the Sunshine...

We cruised on the Coral Princess earlier this year & had that happen a few times.

Thank you very much for that information about the cruise ship information. I found the website and located how to see the special info from Carnival about the Sunshine. I never knew that website existed!

I did discover that there are no refrigerators on deck 1. Oh well, i guess I will pack a cooler.

Thank you again for the tip!

Good to know. Thank you :D I'm not a big lay on the beach person, but I do like to snorkel. I'm sure I'll wander around and do some shopping as well.

I will be in Grand Turk on the Sunshine in 2 weeks. There is supposed to be superior snorkeling / diving there. There are a number of companies that offer two or three site snorkeling, including one where the "shelf" drops off, and there is a 5000 foot drop of the ocean floor. We are booked with Crystal Seas Adventures. I will try to remember to come back here and give you an update when we get back.:D:D

Flyawayca - We just got back from Grand Turk as a port. We did the Carnival Power Snorkel excursion ($75) which goes to the shelf area. It was fantastic! Some colorful fish, although not a ton. The highlights were seeing a sea turtle and some skates, and found conch we were allowed to take home! Nice to have the 'power' as we weren't exhausted when finished. There's a restaurant/bar there also. While there we met people who booked the same trip (of course paid much less) right off the ship from a local named Rudy. Have fun!

You're welcome. I love that website and rely on it heavily. I love the drag decks function although I've found a few ships where there will be a deck or two that isn't sized exactly like the others but, overall, it's very useful. And I never use them, but I always check to see where the laundry room is located on my deck, just in case! I'm on Deck 1, too. Since I'm on a Premier Casino sailing and will get free drinks in the casino the entire cruise, I probably won't even both with my carry-on wine. I don't drink pop. I did order the $2.99 water, so I'll probably just ask for a beer bucket at one of the bars and ask my cabin steward to fill it a couple of times to cool the water. I don't need/want ice cold.

DH88 - I sailed an 8-night Freedom cruise on 11/29/14 (DR, Aruba, Curacao, GT). Everyone I've ever talked to loves Aruba. For me, it was just too commercial and touristy. I preferred Curacao. I think Aruba would be nice to go for a land vaca IF you are a beach person. I'm not, so it just doesn't appeal to me so much. I do rather like the combo of desert island and turquoise sea, though.

Been to GT my past 5 sailings. Honestly, I'm to the point I'd prefer Nassau. I don't "do" water activities, so at least I can get off the ship and wander around Nassau. GT, unless you go snorkeling/diving or want to hang out with the mob at Margaritaville (and I most definitely do not) or go down to Jack's Shack (wasn't impressed), there's not much. Last time, they'd even taken away about 80% of the loungers that are down at the southern end of the beach away from the cruise center which is where I try to go to get in a little quiet reading on the beach. I did the horseback ride & swim the first 4 times I was there and really enjoyed it. Riding in water is awesome. It's been a while so it may be time to do that again.

As for the ship, I never get in ship pools and don't bake/fry out in the sun all day. I do like the Serenity Decks but have found that they aren't at all serene most of the time. It looks lovely, though, and as a morning person, hopefully I can get out there and enjoy it before things get too crowded. We only have two sea days (11-night cruise) so I anticipate the open deck areas will be packed on those two days.

I also rarely go to shows, so the venue sizes don't concern me as much, either.

I spent quite a lot of time Saturday morning reading through the other review threads and looking at the photos. I don't sail for the ship, but it looks to me like they did a nice job with the change from Destiny to Sunshine.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
