lisa08 Posted September 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2005 Can someone tell me the advantages of booking with a travel agent rather than directly with Disney cruise. The prices are the same so I wonder which is the best method
gatour Posted September 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2005 It depends on the travel agent, if all you are going to do is book the actual curise and use "Disney air" and the TA is an online call center type operation then I don't think there is much difference unless the TA will also be giving you some on-board credit etc that Disney won't offer. However, if you want to fly down on your own several days in advance, need a hotel and rental car then a TA may be in order. If you get the right TA they will keep an eye on any potential fare reductions (although for Disney Cruise Line this may be a pipe dream). In the latter case, if you don't mind doing your own reserch and booking for air/hotels/rental cars then booking directly may be in order.
CruisingCourtney Posted September 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2005 Normally with Disney, the TA will be lower than DCL itself, because Disney still allows TA's to kick in commission to lower the price. Also, right now DCL is running a cabin credit for booking online - if you are using a traditional TA, they can book it through the Disney TA website as well. If you are going to book direct, do it online so you get that credit. :) Also, depending on your TA, they may book your shore excursions for you, or take care of any land portions of your trip. Have fun! :)
