Hi All~

Cant wait for our cruise in October! I am a little worried about the cabin though. We are in 3116. Has anyone stayed in this room or around this room? Is the noise from the Liquid Lounge a problem at night?

Thanks so much!

Before I went on the Sunshine last summer, there was a thread going that mentioned the lounge/theater/club, aka, Liquid Lounge did not operate every night. I found this to be true on our sailing. The lounge/club was closed or did not operate in that location on several nights, and the club/disco venue/music was moved to the Havana at 10:00pm or 11:00pm until around 2:00am. I don't have a definitive answer to your question, but walking towards the club/lounge from multiple directions or access points, the noise was minimum, which may have to do with any soundproofing to the venue when the ship was revamped. I forgot to mention in my post on the other thread, that this is not a cabin I would book, since its under the nightclub/theater/lounge. If possible I would change to another cabin away from the club, or any rooms under/over music venues, or those that operate for most of the day, or into the night.

The farther forward the cabin on Deck 3, the more likely noise will be an issue. Since you are in an oceanview, it might not be as big an issue as the interior cabins in that area, but I would still try to switch to a cabin closer to the lobby. Since the Liquid Lounge is a disco several nights during the cruise, there could be significant noise late at night.

This sounds like an interior room with a window (not technically called an OV because its obstructed). The reason I say this is because we are on the opposite side of theship in room 3131 and ours is an interior room with a window buts its view is obstructed. Have you heard anything about these type rooms? I have read these rooms are awesome to have. We sail Halloween Day!:D

I haven't stayed in one of the rooms, but I can tell you that the window looks out onto a public deck. Just passing by the windows, you can't see in from the deck, but I supposed if someone wanted to press their nose against the glass they probably could :p The lifeboats are above the decks, so you can see straight out. The obstruction would be the rail. It would be somewhat like having a balcony since access to the deck is just a short walk from any of these cabins. If I could get one of the cabins from about 3124 back toward lobby, I would definitely stay in one of these. We had 3128 booked, but got a sweet and cheap upgrade to a deck 8 forward balcony which was awesome.

We had rooms 3139 and 3135 on our Thanksgiving cruise and loved these rooms. Never heard any noise from the liquid lounge at night. I would prefer these rooms over an ocean view due to the convenient location and easy access to the outside. We are staying in a Lido balcony on our next Sunshine cruise, otherwise would lean towards these 4j's again.

I'm booked in 3131 in March! I've read great reviews about the 4J rooms and can't wait to stay in one!

You won the cabin lotto. You most be a 3 party group or 4 party group. It is almost impossible to get those cabins if only 2 people are sailing.

they are NEW. No plumbing issues No wet carpet issues. No mold or any of the things others complain about in reviews. Which I SAW NONE of anywhere on the Sunshine.

You have a bed. a Sofa. A big window which overlooks the Promenade and beyond that......A CLEAR VIEW. You see ports. A few feet and you are on deck Watching it in fresh air. Port side is smoking. We were in 3120. Seldom saw anyone out there. My husband talked to some folks from Mississippi..............liked chatting with them and a few other people. Mostly when not sailing away or coming into Ports........No one but crew, occasionally, out there.

How much did we like that cabin? And usually we do book a balcony cabin. the cheapest ones but still a balcony. We booked 3135 for our next cruise and had to get it through our PVP. And we are Platinum Plus. working on Diamond.

If you snag one........it is $40 bucks in upgrade costs. WORTH every penny.

I wrote a review. It might be on page four or five. We got back on July 5. 2015. I wrote a lot about those cabins and the Sunshine.

AND you are right by Shore Desk Ship Main Office Desk. We ate in the Sunset Dining Room which was maybe 100 yards down the hall. convenient to everything. LOVED that cabin. And......they are mostly sold out for the YEAR. Rejoice if you have one.

We NEVER heard any noise from the Liquid Lounge. NEVER. Not once. VERY Quiet down there. FEW cabins on that deck. all of those cabins have MINI FRIDGES. Almost all cabins DO NOT. I drink diet coke. I have lost a lot of weight on those sodas. That mattered to me.

Hi, I am booked in 3131 but am worried about noise from theater/liquid lounge, its' starboard side so no smokers hopefully. But was thinking of changing to 3143 I believe, the room at the very beginning of starboard side right next to guest services, hoping that its far away enough from liquid lounge/theatre. What do you think? thanks.

I could have booked that one but I worried about it being too close to the Main Ship Desk. Sometimes you get lines.

We never heard anything in 3120 and we were almost directly across from you. The entrance too and from the Liquid lounge is on the PORT side so you would not hear it anyway.

I am a light sleeper. I heard nothing. Promise.

Ok, thanks, good to know. This is the cruise Boston will b playing so there will be a lot of partying going on. LOL, still not sure if I should move to 3143 just next to guest services just to be sure, but then you have guest service people lined up to your door most likely. haha, ahhhhhhh all these decisions.

Great to get feedback on deck Sunshine cabins. We're in 3120 on the 10/10 sailing. This will be our first platinum cruise with Carnival and our 4th on the Sunshine.

Great for you! I have 3 sailings booked the rest of this year, 2 on Sunshine and one on Breeze in December for the "ultra premier cruise" so excited about the Ultra (the BIG casino cruise with lots of prizes).

Then I need one more day for Platinum status. They no longer do the party or drink for Gold members so I have to make it to Platinum. LOL,

Just got back from Legend in Seattle, did the Alaska cruise. Soooooo beautiful!

I will be on Sunshine in August and that is when Boston the band will be there. I am wondering how noisy the lobby area, just under theatre may be but I am happy to get an inside room with a window. I never really use the balcony, rather be walking around on deck but I do like a light to tell me the time of day. I am on starboard side which may be better because the smokers will be going out to smoke on deck 3 on port side. As long as your curtain is closed I think it will be fine.

Thank you for all of the great info!

Does anyone have any pictures of the Sunshine Deck 3 4j cabins?

Thanks so much!

You'll find it almost impossible to get pics of any of the 4Js on the Sunshine. There is one thread on here with a few pics of the new ones on deck 3. Try different search terms and you'll find it.

I'm glad someone that's actually stayed in one of these rooms chimed in with relevant information.

There is a review by mpcaruth that has good pics of the 4j cabins on deck 3. I'd post the link but I'm on my phone and can't get it now. I just did a search for "sunshine 4j" and scrolled down a bit, the title says something about western ports.

Thank you so much for this review! My husband and I are staying in room 3120 and I was worried the noise was going to be too much during the night. We are so excited to cruise!

I'll let you know about any noise issues for me when I get back. Going on August 16 and will be in 3131 I think. There is a Boston concert that cruise and they will be in liquid lounge/theater so if there is a noise problem I will know it! Well, I will be at the concert but would hear practice, theater activities, dancers practicing etc. Let's hope not though as previous posters said. I have heard both. These rooms aren't as long as ocean view rooms which have GREAT space, I was pleasantly surprised by the OV rooms, but they are newer I guess. Anyway, will post when I get back.
