We saw Finnjet in Freeport on Wednesday while aboard the Majesty of the Seas. She was tied up at the palm trees, next to Discovery. A local said she has been there about four months. She was showing a little smoke coming out the stack. The large port side door near the aft was open and some work seemed to be going on in there. I have a photo I can't seem to post here, but I'll forward it to anyone who would like it.

Finnjet has now been purchased by Club Cruises of Holland and renamed Da Vinci, she arrived last month in Genoa, Italy for conversion to a cruise ship, no certainty as to where of for whom she will operate but a possible rumour is Phoenix Reisen of Germany.

Possibly the best outcome that could be expected for this ship.

If anyone is interested (and can read Finnish) there's an article in Finnish newspaper today, May 26, 2008 that Finnish business man wants to get Finnjet to Turku, Finland. Article says, "A new turn: Finnjet wanted to Turku". I'll try to post link to the newspaper, ILTA=SANOMAT.
