Nightly entertainment options?

Going to be on the Victory in a bit over a week :D and was wondering what the nightly entertainment was like. First time on Carnival but I'm guessing they have similiar offerings as other cruise lines. The one thing we discovered on a previous cruise on RCI is we enjoyed the piano bar and some of the live bands. Are there similiar offerings on Victory and if anyone has been on her recently were they good?

Only 10 days to go!

I can't give you info on the production shows for that particular ship as I have not been on her, but I have a bit of experience with Carnival's nightlife in general.

First off, if you liked the piano bar on RCI, I think you'll find Carnival's to be even better. I know I do. Carnival has theirs in a dedicated lounge, whereas Royal has it as part of the larger Schooner Bar. I prefer Carnival's setup as it creates a more lively, party atmosphere. The players (the good ones anyway, I've had only a few boring ones) really keep the crowd participating, singing along, calling out lines, etc. On Royal it seems like more folks just tend to sit in the outer tables and listen. On that class, the piano bar should be at the aft end of the promenade.

If you're a night owl, Carnival also runs their nightclubs much better than RCI. They tend to keep it open later, and the crowds usually hang in later as well. Obviously that can change depending on the guests, but in general I've found CCL's clubs are more "lively".

Carnival will also usually have live music on the promenade, I mostly see them set up outside or near the casino bar.

There are also pool deck parties at night on some sailings that can be a lot of fun. Check the Capers (Fun Times, or whatever they call the daily newsletter now) for them.

Lastly, I sometimes enjoy Carnival's comedy shows. The last one I went to was held in the aft lounge on the promenade. They can be hit or miss, but worth checking out.

Thanks, looking forward to checking the piano bar out and will also look for Music Asia. I am not much into the dance scene ( I'm pretty sure my health insurance company would get pretty nervous if I got on to a dance floor ) but I do enjoy kicking back and listening to some good music.

Does the comedy club fill up pretty quick? I know the one on RCI's Allure was about impossible to get into. You had to reserve a time long before your cruise if you wanted in.

Down to single digits, almost there.

Carnival doesn't accept reservations for any of their comedy clubs.

On getting in, I'll tell you my experience and what I've heard. I sampled two early (6:30-ish) shows on my last cruise on the Triumph. I arrived about 15 minutes early for each. There were plenty of seats available when I got there, and neither were at capacity when their shows started.

What I've heard from others is that you'll have a much easier time finding seats at the earlier, family-friendly shows (generally before 9:30) than at the later ones with the dirty words. I've heard those reach capacity with some frequency. Your mileage, of course, may vary.

I agree, the late night adult comedy shows do tend to fill up more in my experience.
