Sunshine price

I found a 10 day cruise in May,2016 out of Charleston,SC on the Sunshine. I was excited until I went to price the cruise $3800.00 for a balcony for 2 people.I realize this is May, but that seems outrages. I'm paying RCCL $2300.00 in Dec.2015 for a 9 night Southern Carib. It has gone up since then to $3000.00, so we're talking about $800.00 more. I'll pass, thank you.

Pricing is always based on available berths. Just looked up that particular cruise, and looks like only 1 balcony left. Suites sold out. Also a Carnival Live concert series cruise hence the premium pricing..

I feel your pain!!!:mad::mad:

They are pricing this ship like she's new, and she's NOT!

Less than stellar reviews.

However, we were excited to be able to cruise her out of NYC next summer, but 4K for 3 in a Lido balcony. Ummmmmm. No thanks.

Cheaper to cruise the Magic out of Port Canaveral, WITH airfare from CT.

Kind of bummed, because she's been on the radar and we didn't need air.

Sad, when you can book a cruise out of FL WITH air, and it's still much cheaper.

Oh well..........:rolleyes:

We were hesitant due to the horrible reviews when we booked the Sunshine this past January to take our eldest on a belated 21st birthday cruise. We had a new scenic OV -9122- and he had a lido balcony down the hall for a 7 night western caribbean cruise. We had an amazing time, used the new sports square, managed the tiny comedy club, enjoyed the water slides with our youngest two, ate at the steakhouse with our older son and GF, and especially enjoyed the 2.0 upgrade eateries. We are booked on her again next year May 30th for a 10 night Journeys cruise and this time are staying in one of the new OVs on the Promenade by the Red Frog Pub. The layout of the ship did take some getting used to, but the good outweighed the bad, even for us non-smokers (one of the biggest issues is traffic flow thru the casino and congested smoking areas). Our May 2016 sailing has gone up several times now- a testament to the 5 ports we are visiting and the novelty of Sunshine being at Charleston, I suppose. We can't wait. If you can get an OV that is reasonably priced in your opinion, I would definitely try this itinerary and ship. Balconies are overpriced on all cruises IMHO.

Thanks for the info about the Carnival Live. Wouldn't pay $3800.00 for any Carnival cruise, especially on an older ship. The reviews have been horrible.

Why not for any CARNIVAL cruise?? RCCL in December with one less night and only $800 cheaper?? Doesn't sound like any kind of deal. The negative reviews you have been reading are totally false. Read the same reviews before our July cruise. I can tell you we had a GREAT time. The Sunshine is one of our favorite ships. BTW....the "old" ship has been completely refurbished. But I guess the negative reviews told you otherwise on this also.

We are booked on that sailing. It is not a Carnival Live! cruise, but it is a Journeys cruise. We booked shortly after it was released and paid a very fair price. But it has sold very well and quite fast, hence the prices going up and up.
