happybooker1 Posted July 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2015 So I have a couple of questions about our upcoming 4-day cruise on Triumph. He just needs his DL & birth certificate. It's a closed loop cruise. Previously I had to have the permission letter from his Dad but now I don't right? He can stay in the clubs at night? He doesn't drink anyway. But he's already graduated HS so he can't get into O2?? He likes to vape but just flavored juice, no nicotine. (If you don't understand this last part just skip it). Can he just vape in the smoking areas? What else can he do or where can he go that he couldn't at 16 when we took our last cruise? Thanks for your help. Rare sparks1093 Posted July 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2015 So I have a couple of questions about our upcoming 4-day cruise on Triumph. He just needs his DL & birth certificate. It's a closed loop cruise. Previously I had to have the permission letter from his Dad but now I don't right? Right. He can stay in the clubs at night? He doesn't drink anyway. But he's already graduated HS so he can't get into O2?? I believe this is correct too. He likes to vape but just flavored juice, no nicotine. (If you don't understand this last part just skip it). Can he just vape in the smoking areas? Yes he can What else can he do or where can he go that he couldn't at 16 when we took our last cruise? He can gamble and he can drink alcohol in port. Thanks for your help. Answers above. Have a great cruise!
CJinFLA00 Posted July 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Most of the night clubs are 21 and over after 10:00pm. They even made my wife go back and get her ID on the Dream.
Warm Breezes Posted July 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2015 Most of the night clubs are 21 and over after 10:00pm. They even made my wife go back and get her ID on the Dream. I didn't think this was correct from when I went with my son when he was 18 a couple years ago, so I looked it up on the Carnival web site and on a recent Fun Times....according to both of them the age for night clubs is 18+. JLee1973 Posted July 29, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2015 (edited) He can go to the adult comedy shows. The previous poster is correct the night clubs are 18+. The only area I'm aware is 21+ is the Serenity deck. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Edited July 29, 2015 by JLee1973
happybooker1 Posted July 30, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Answers above. Have a great cruise! LOL sparks1093. DS could drink in ports on LAST cruise too!! He'd swagger up to the bar with money, order a drink, take a couple of sips and push it across the table to me and ask if he could go get a Coke. He STILL doesn't drink! Our oldest didn't like any of the alcohol that he tried when he cruised at 18 (NCL allows them to drink beer and wine with permission). Then he went to college:eek:. My son is now 21 and in his last year of college. I don't think he has even tasted any alcohol yet even though we have offered it to him. He doesn't drink pop either. I don't know where he gets it from because while we don't drink much, we are definitely not anti-drinking parents. DD (18) on the other hand is a different story.... CheckersMidwest Posted July 30, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) My DD turned 18 while we were on our cruise the first week of June. She showed her student ID from this last year & told them she just graduated and they did let her go to Club 02. I think it was because she isn't officially a college student yet. She went to the casino briefly. Lost her money too quickly. She didn't go to the night club because there were usually people my age and she didn't want to hang out with 40+ yr olds. (I'd rather she wasn't around 40 yr old men anyway !) Does your cruise have a 'social media website' group? That's a good way to find out who else is traveling in that age range. Since there's no meet & greet for that age once they are booted from 02.....it's hard to find someone to hang out with. I was well into my twenties. Yea...but I'm pretty sure he just doesn't do it. Just like he hasn't touched pop in at least 6 years because it wasn't "healthy". He's just that kind of kid. I didn't raise him that way. DH and I drink pop all the time. We also always have alcohol in the house. We don't drink it that much but it is always there. DD will ask for a cooler every once in a while and we are ok with that as long as she isn't driving anywhere. DS just isn't interested in it and never was. He wouldn't even let us buy him a drink on his 21st birthday.
