I always get my foreign currencies at the local post office, you get it in 3 days. Reasonable rate. My opinion anyway.

In our experiences, if it is folding cash you want, we agree with uncle Les.

 

Most banks want to charge a base fee up front, and then the exchange rate offered is generally not better (or is worse) than Australia Post/Amex. With Apost there is no "base" fee..

 

Order and pay via Bpay on-line, and collect a couple of days later. You will have to order a minimum $$$ value in selected currencies.

We live in Sydney and I regularly go into the city for work and the best forex rates for cash are found in a few exchange places in George St in the general area between Chinatown & Central Station. The Western Union one on the western side of George St is normally the best.

 

If you want to withdraw forex OS get a Citibank visa debit card. No forex fees and generally no ATM fees either and the best rate.
