ATM Question

I just got a new ATM card with the following icons on the back: "Plus"; "Interlink"; "AFFN". Will these work for me in Greece & Turkey?

Best bet is to contact your bank and ask them. If if the symbols state they are international, you may need to notify your bank that you will be using your card in a foreign land.

I know "PLUS" is good in Greece I imagine it is good most places.

We also used our ATM card in Britian, Denmark, Norway without problems.

In any case, do be sure to contact your credit card company to let then know your itinerary. If not they may freeze your account when the first charge comes in from a foreign country. (For your own protection, of course!)

I would CALL your bank(s) before leaving.

 

When I went to Australia and New Zealand, I e-mailed both of my banks (one for debit card, one for credit card) to tell them of my plans.

 

Luckily, neither of my cards were denied, but I did return (after 18 days) to voicemail messages from both banks asking about suspicious activity. They could easily have shut off both of my cards and I would have been in big trouble.
