Transfer to Rome cruise ship port

If you've booked through the cruise line after you pick up your luggage there'll be someone there with a sign. You check in with them and they'll show you a spot to put your luggage. Then they'll escort you to the bus, and your luggage will magically appear at your cabin later.

I can't remember what terminal I landed in in Rome, but they were waiting in the arrivals hall - I assume they go to all terminals, but I'm not sure. Have you got your paperwork yet? That normally spells things out if there are any special arrangements.

Which airline are you on? Generally, if you're on a North American airline, all incoming flights land at T3. If you are on Alitalia or KLM, it could be T1.

On the return flight, all North American airlines depart out of T5.

I think I was fleeced! I seem to remember paying €90 a few years ago (which at the time would have been over $130)!

This was for 1 person on the Royal Caribbean bus from the pier to the airport.

If you had more than 1 person, you didn't.

I travel solo - that was just for me (airport to pier in my case). I may be misremembering the price. I just remember thinking "that's bloody dear", and looking into alternatives. Then I discovered how far away Civitiveccia was, and thought "a euro a minute". That would probably have been summer/autumn 2011.

I had been staying in Rome prior to the cruise. The cost for a private transfer on my own was outrageous. I ended up finding a shared van transfer (aka super shuttle) from near the train station in Rome (at my hotel, though) to the pier for 65 euros.

Bob's limos-- highly recommend them!!

But since United changed my flight from 1pm to 11:30am, I figured the cruise transfer was the way to go-- it was!! Fifteen minutes from ship to bus.

Interested to hear from anyone that has done the RCCL transfer from the port to Rome airport. How does the luggage get to the bus? Is it placed on the bus from the luggage pick up the night before from the stateroom?

Thanks.

I picked mine up in the cruise terminal and wheeled it to the bus. That guarantees it gets on the same bus. They load it from you-- wasn't a problem.
