Juneau taxi/driver

We will be in Juneau at the end of the month with 3 other ships in port. Has anyone been able to hire a taxi and/or driver at the dock for half a day to do some sightseeing - Glacier Gardens, Mendenhall, etc? If so, what kind of cost? There will be 4 - 6 of us.

Why would you need a taxi for "1/2 day" You have 2 places listed, Mendenhall Glacier, and Glacier Gardens. No taxi is going to wait while you visit these two areas, unless you are just going to get out of the cab for 10 minutes and back in. IF you want to do the popular Nugget Falls trail, then you need an hour. Glacier Gardens- is a tram transit through the gardens. Budget $40 for a Mendenhall cab, then $25 to Glacier Gardens, then $25 back to the dock. Should be ball park.

 

IF you want a drive by of multiple tour areas, then it's a mistake to think you are going to get a good deal, or tour with a walk up. Far superior if you look up guide recommendations, and work out an itinerary BEFORE you get there. With a fixed rate already quoted.
