I am so impressed with how nice some of you are to take your time to answer questions. We are staying at the Amerisuites prior to cruise and need some recommendations for that area. We are staying at Holiday Inn Express on S.E. 17th after cruise and see plenty of good places in that area that ya'll have suggested. Thanks so much for your help.

@ amerisuites there is an outback & a mexican resturant right in front of it. we ate @ a small lecal place across main drag & had conch fritters

&a cuban sandwich. before we cruise we like to have local or junk food. it was a great bar w/ great drinks, but a hole in the wall. we have stayed there 2 times before cruises, u can leave your car there if u drive & they will take u 2 the ship & pick u up.

Hi, there are many restaurants along 17th Street. Besides Outback and Del

Rio (both next to Amerisuites)there are lots of other choices.

Carlos and Pepes is excellent. Across the street is one of my favorites.

It is called Bravo. Italian and I have eaten there 3 times. Excellent food

and very fun atmosphere.

Also Bimini Boatyard is in the same center as Bravo.

There is also Kelly's. I believe that is a Steakhouse. So you have quite

a few choices and all are very walkable.

Thanks so much.I wasn't sure the Bravo was close to Amerisuites.

Lois, did you see the question someone asked about hotel in Jacksonville? I remember seeing your name and how helpful you were to so many who were staying in Jax. I think the hotel so many stayed was the Wyndham but I wasn't sure.

Bravo is across from Holiday Inn Express, opposite the Renaissance Hotel. Everything along SE 17th Street is close, including AmeriSuites and Holiday Inn Express, they're only about 4 blocks from each other. There are so many restaurants I always forget several when I try to list them, but there's something for everyone.

Hi jplewis, not sure where someone had asked about Jacksonville Hotels

(recently). We don't have a Wyndam here. But we do have a Wingate Inn.

Many people stayed there a couple of years ago.

That is probably what you were thinking about.

There was a great Irish pub across 17th st just up from the Amersuites when we were there last year. Maybe one of the locals can help with the name. The food was really good, not expensive and there were a ton of different draught beers if you're into that. We had a great time there.
