Getting of the ship

My cruise is scheduled to arrve at 8:00 a.m. What time should I expect to be getting into a cab for the airport? I am just trying to decide what time the flight should be scheduled.

Usually around 10 am is when you can get off. Flight time depends on how many ships in port, and how far from airport. Usually not before 11 or 12, and if you have non-refundable tickets, maybe later.

Well, knowing which cruise you are on and which airport would help, but i would say as a rule of thumb to book one no earlier than 2pm. You may have some extra time at the airport, but it beats missing your flight.

Only three ships in port that day--you should be fine with a noon or later flight. If you are one to stress about making your flight, pick a later one and save yourself the worry about delays. And take a taxi, not a transfer. Faster AND cheaper.

It also depends whether you are going to self-disembark or not. Last month we decided to self-disembark and walked off the Victory at 7:30. We were in a shuttle for the rental car place about 20 minutes later. To self-disembark you have to be able to carry all your luggage with you but it means no waiting for your colour to be called, no trying to find your luggage later, and no putting it outside your cabin door the night before. I loved this option, and we managed to drag three suitcases, a carryon and a camera bag with us!!!:)
