Good Morning Cruise Critics, welcome to day 7 booohoooo of our Bermuda Cruise, that has become a cruise to NY :(

 

Internet is once again horrible. It was amazing in port but sailing it is the worst I have ever experienced on any ship. Oh well first world problems lol.

 

Someone asked for studio lounge pics, I finally found it and was lucky that the door was open as I believe you need to be in a studio cabin to access it.

Just a quick question about your morning room service, Do you tip your butler daily when they bring your morning coffee or at the end of your cruise?

 

I've always gotten the morning room service and tipped with each delivery but then again we weren't in a suite as we will be on our next cruise. So I was just wondering how that will work for us. :)

In a non-suite we tipped each morning as sometimes it is a different delivery person each day, with the butler we tipped him at the end (today) for the full week.

Seadog, I have followed you from the beginning and have enjoyed every entry, especially the photos. Reliving our cruise in June. Next year, we are booked in the Haven for the 1st (and possibly only) time. If you can, please talk about the Haven experience.... did you use the pools, hot tubs, etc. I know you went to the Haven for breakfast; how about lunches and dinners? Any details on the Haven and their staff would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We did use the pool in the haven the second day along with the hot tub, early in the day. The pool is not big as u can see from the photos earlier in the report. It can and does get crowded in the afternoons on nice days bit nothing like the main pools do.

 

The staff is great and always have a good morning and a smile for us.

 

The one day while laying in the sun they served fruit on a stick and cool washcloths.

 

There was an officers reception in the a 6-7 pm the second night that we missed due to dinner, so try and plan around that if it remains at the same time.

 

We ate lunch in the haven restaurant several days and it is very good and they will customize menu items for you within reason.

 

Always ask for a double shrimp cocktail ;) or if you do not like mushrooms they will omit them from the pasta dish etc.

 

The menus are the same all week so can get limited after a while.

 

We have never eaten dinner in there as lately we get specialty dining included for booking the haven.

 

We use the concierge for a few bookings but we see others use them way more. So make use of them.

 

Your butler is usually great and will help out with room service orders whose menu is a bit more extensive, (I will try and photo it later).

 

Other than that the haven privilege can get you seating at full show from what we hear, we have not tried that though.

 

Upon embarkation you get priority boarding and tomorrow we will be escorted off between 8:30 and 9:30 right after self walk offs are completed.

 

If I think of anything else I will add it.

I went on the Breakaway to Bermuda in May (i wrote a review too but nothing like this) and me and hubby loved it so much we are going back next summer and bringing our SIL and nephew.

Even though I've been once I'm still reading the reviews to see what I may have missed - or tips to make this second time around even better.

Really appreciate the 'live' feed on your vacation.

BTW did you see chickens? Me and hubby saw chickens and their babies all over the shopping area of the dock (by the markets and the rum cake / glassware place). That was different!
