Two Rileys Posted August 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2015 My 81-year-old mother will be cruising with us out of Port Canaveral in a couple of weeks. While she is mobile for the most part, she cannot walk up steep ramps and gangways that are found at some ports. We are planning to get wheelchair assistance for her both going onto the ship and coming off at debarkation. Has anyone reading this ever used wheelchair assistance at Port Canaveral? Rare Essiesmom Posted August 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2015 I'm sure you will get some answers here, but you might also ask on the Florida Departures board, Under North American Homeports. There are usually locals posting there that can give you some insight. EM

The ramps and gangways can at the ports can be very steep at times base on water levels. Wheelchair assistance is only provided on embarkation and disembarkation day . Therefore have you consider bringing a wheelchair with you or renting one from the cruise lines approved vendor ?
