iluvcruises Posted September 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2005 We will be staying a night after the cruise at the Hyatt Pier 66. Aside from the restaurants at the hotel, can anyone suggest any reasonably priced, good places to eat for a family of 4? We'll probably be taking the water taxi. Thanks for any info! dtmd Posted September 28, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 28, 2005 I want lobster! Any suggestions?
hotmike98 Posted September 29, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2005 Yes, pick a cruise off the New England coast! Sorry, couldn't resist.
hotmike98 Posted September 29, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2005 OK, for the real reply: I ate at 15th Street Fisheries last year, and it was excellent, but I don't recall whether they have lobster. If you follow the links above, you have to backtrack to Fort Lauderdale (not just Las Olas). Heard really good things about the Floridian, but can't testify personally. legalslave Posted September 30, 2005 #8 Share Posted September 30, 2005 This is a little off topic but I couldn't find an alcohol board! Does anyone know if they sell Blackberry Merlot at the publix on 17th St or at the nearby liquor store? Diane
TrentS Posted September 30, 2005 #9 Share Posted September 30, 2005 I have no idea if Publix carry that or not, but I'll give you the websites to a couple of liquor store chains that have locations on SE 17th Street. Perhaps you can contact them and see if they carry it in case Publix doesn't. Crown Wine & Spirits have a location at SE 17th Street & Cordova Road, across the street from the Embassy Suites, behind the Chevron station... http://www.crownwineandspirits.com/ 67 Wine & Spirits are in the strip mall just across the street from Crown to the east... http://www.67wineandspiritsfla.com/

TrentS Posted October 1, 2005 #13 Share Posted October 1, 2005 Can you get to the 15th street fish by water taxi? Yep... Stop #11... http://www.watertaxi.com/FortLauderdale/FLLMap.Asp
legalslave Posted October 1, 2005 #14 Share Posted October 1, 2005 Trent, looking at the map on 15th St Fisheries website, it looks like it is very close to Amerisuites. Is that correct? Also, Trent, do you ever go on cruises? Diane
TrentS Posted October 1, 2005 #15 Share Posted October 1, 2005 It isn't too far from AmeriSuites. If that's where you're staying it would be easiest to just grab a taxi to go to 15th Street Fisheries. Yep, I have 2 more cruises coming up before the end of the year. :)
legalslave Posted October 1, 2005 #16 Share Posted October 1, 2005 The 3 of us all enjoy walking. We are at Amerisuites at this time. Figure we can eat more that way! Would you say it is within walking distance. Say a mile or less? What cruises are you going on Trent? Diane
TrentS Posted October 1, 2005 #17 Share Posted October 1, 2005 Yeah, it's walkable if you're energetic... I don't know the exact distance but it's probably about a mile. The last opportunity to get from SE 17th Street to SE 15th Street is Cordova Road, so don't go any farther east than that (unless you want to swim ;) ). We're doing the new Norwegian Jewel in November and Explorer of the Seas in December.
sunsetme Posted October 1, 2005 #18 Share Posted October 1, 2005 you can check out the distance on mapquest.
