Dajo5601 Posted September 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2015 Four weeks today we're off around the Med on the QE. Pretty much familiar with and sussed out all ports with the exception of the Cagliari and Monaco (been to Monaco previously but can't remember). Anybody recently visited who can advise (a) shuttle bus availability (b) easy access into town © anything else we should be aware of. Thanks in advance............. I can't answer your question directly, but I am sure Solent Richard's blogs on the two ports would be of interest to you. Monaco here: http://solentrichardscruiseblog.com/2015/05/24/monaco-one-way-to-do/ Cagliari here: http://solentrichardscruiseblog.com/2014/03/30/one-way-to-do-cagliari/ EDIT Should have added that Monaco has a HOHO bus. I believe Cagliari also has a small HOHO bus. Hope this helps. Edited September 9, 2015 by candhu18

majortom10 Posted September 9, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2015 Monaco is unusual to the fact that there are two main areas interesting to visitors the Palace area which also has the cathedral, Oceanographic museum and shops area and the casino area which are on opposite sides of the harbour so an interesting but long walk around the harbour. There is a public bus service that runs from just below the palace square to casino area for those unable to walk the distance. There is also a water taxi that runs across the harbour between where the ship or tenders dock to below the casino to avoid walking around the harbour. JuniorCruisers Posted September 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Monte Carlo is an easy walk, if you're happy to do it. Approximately 20 mins from the ship to casino around the marina and perhaps 10 up to the Palace. And of course only a few steps from the dock into the town itself. Ray66 Posted September 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2015 I'm on the QE now. We did Monaco a few days ago. We used the Ho-ho bus which picks up near the ship. We did the whole tour in the morning then in the afternoon we got off and on at points of interest. We were supposed to have 2 days in Monaco - the first day docked and the second day tendered. But the captain decided to change the second day into going to Toulon instead which we and some others were not too pleased about.
