Yes you can use cash. Set the account up as a cash account and during check in you can put cash on the account. Make sure to put enough on to cover cheers. Once onboard purchase cheers and then go to guest services to put your card on the account. Any leftover cash will be used first, then your card.

Some ports do not accept cash at check in. Have to go to Guest Services or use a kiosk.

In your S&S account money is used in this order-

Non refundable OBC

Refundable OBC

Cash/Gift Cards

Credit Card

Great idea.....thank you. Well can I do the same with a credit card? Set it up with the one I want to use with Cheers then switch to the other?

Doubt it as the account is charged to your CC at the end. Guest Services will help you.

Could always get gift cards or get Carnival Cash beforehand for the amount of the cruise.

Gift cards is probably the easiest way. Take the other credit card and buy some gift cards at lowes or the grocery store or whatever. Apply those to your account at the kiosk on board. Let the rest of your purchases go on the cc you already gave set up on the sail and sign.

If you add enough cruise cash to your account you can purchase Cheers without having to stand in a line or at a kiosk to add cards or cash to your account. Just go to the bar and purchase Cheers. We've done this twice and it worked great both times.
