longhorn5 Posted September 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Does anyone have experience using Island Marketing / Belize Cruise Excursions to visit Altun Ha? I'd like to know what time they depart the Tourism Village. Our ship will be in port from 8-6 and we would like to be able to go in the morning. I emailed them to ask but their reply only contained the info from their website and a link to make a reso and did not answer my question. If anyone has suggestions on private tour guides I would love some recommendations. I am a planner and would prefer to arrange this ahead of time but am open to arranging it locally when we get off the boat. Can anyone tell me what to expect in regards to pricing/service doing this? Thanks!
stewartluzon Posted September 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2015 the Altun ha and Belize city tour is 4 hours and departs the dock at 9:30 local time, we did this tour with vivtours.com, its sunny and warm, so we recommend wearing a hat, bottle water is sold at the park vendors for a 1$, the site just opened a visitors center and is very informative. have a nice day. from Stu
iambeast Posted September 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2015 For your Altun Ha excursion I would recommend going with waytogotoursbelize.com . They give you the best for your time and money. I'm impressed with this company and their versatility of tours and how they cater much towards their customers satisfaction. I've used them more than once most recently on the Glory which i just got back off of today
dizneefreak28 Posted September 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I've used Nacho and Cynthia before. I'll be using them again for our trip in November. They were wonderful!
longhorn5 Posted September 24, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted September 24, 2015 Thanks for all of the suggestions. I talked to Nacho earlier this week - he was so nice and helpful. I sent him an email last night letting him know that we want to use him. Hope to hear back soon so I can mark one more thing off my pre-cruise to do list! longhorn5 Posted September 26, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted September 26, 2015 Nacho & Cynthia have private tours - their company is NCQ Belize Adventure Tours and website is http://ncqadventuretours.com/ I have not used them before but booked a trip to Altun Ha on Oct 14th. So far my impression of them is very good. I can post a review once we get back from our trip.

Lots of local history and local politics, corny riddles and questions to entertain. Spoiler: first cruise ship to Belize was a gay Scandinavian based cruise. Loves what he's doing! Cynthia is quiet but a real pleasure to be around. And a really safe driver. Have a great time!!:)
