Avidsnorkeler Posted September 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2015 We want to schedule independent excursions in Georgetown and Belize, and would like to get an idea of how long the ship takes to clear customs and then to tender in to these ports. The arrival/anchoring time is 9 am. Does any one have experience with these customs clearance and tendering times? (Oceania is being vague about these answers. They say customs clearance takes one to two hours and that tendering time depends on the port.) It's so hard to plan an independent excursion with such vague information. hypercafe Posted September 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) My recollection is the port clearance was quick, no more than a hour at each, probably less. The tender ride in Belize is long, 30+ minutes and they do not use ships boats but ferries from the port. In Georgetown the port is close and they use ships boats. Have fun. Rare LHT28 Posted September 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2015 For GC the tendering started as soon as they could get the tenders in the water & the ramp set up trip to shore was about 10 min Belize was a bit longer trip to shore but it went quickly Both ports you will need to go to the lounge & get tender tickets from the staff there & wait for your colour/number to be called before you can go to the tender area If you want off early go early to the lounge they will sometimes allow independents on the same tender with the O tour groups read the CURRENTS for instructions

If you contact local excursion providers they can help with your question as they are used to cruise ship arrivals and the time you would be on the shore.
