Cayman Turtle Farm

Has anybody done this tour (on your own) and is it worth it? Also, how far is the farm from the port?

If you're interested in farming turtles, then it's worth it. They raise them for meat...it's a FARM. They also have a beach area, which many will spend time at....

The local bus runs to the turtle farm...$2.50 pp.

Contrary to what some people stress repeatedly, although the Turtle Farm is a farm, you'd never know it from just going there. Their overt message is conservation, and it will remind you of a small Sea World or similar park, with touch tanks, a snorkel lagoon, swimming area with water slide, etc.

 

It is not within walking distance of the port, but is easily accessible via a short taxi ride. I believe that transportation can also be pre-arranged with the Turtle Farm if you buy tickets from them in advance.
