simonpjd Posted October 14, 2015 #26 Share Posted October 14, 2015 All cruise lines have pros and cons. Oceania was fantastic but boy did I miss not having tea making facilities in the cabin. We are trying Royal Caribbean for the first time in January. That will be interesting. Then the Queen Victoria from Cape Town back home so another interesting trip there. But we are also booked on Arcadia and Oriana later in the year. So back to P&O again. Let's be honest, they are all great. All kept spotless. Looked after like royalty. We are all very lucky to be able to spend time and see the world on these wonderful vessels. Happy cruising everyone.
kersh Posted October 14, 2015 #27 Share Posted October 14, 2015 Thanks Sue How I wish the reverse was true. We are top tier on Princess but starting over on P & O! Its very encouraging that there are some very good comments about P & O. Think the problem is, when you have remained loyal to one brand (like us with Princess) you have no idea what the others are like in comparison. £5.00 pppd is a bargain. Princess charge $11.50 (about £7.50) and it rumoured to be going up to $12.95. Another question please. The internet prices. We fully intend to use internet cafes/fast food places, etc. in port, but will still need some access whilst on board ship. I note you get free minutes if you buy time before embarking, but do they have any embarkation day deals which could work out cheaper? Thanks. Gillian Hi Gillian, The same deal you get for the Internet before you sail is available when you embark the ship. We also use the port free wifi and Internet cafes but do like to be in touch with home on sea days as well. We book the 240 minute package which costs £62.50 and we get free minutes added. Can't remember if that is 20 minutes or 40 minutes. We use it sparingly on board by preparing e mails before we go on line. We find if we go on very early morning or late at night it runs reasonably fast to receive and send e mails. We occasionally use it to look up something on the internet but not regularly. We found that on our recent 17 night cruise we had spare minutes left over. Sue
