Nanners1955 Posted October 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2015 We are a group of 6 staying in a Hotel the night before cruising next month. What would be the most reliable means of getting to the Bayport Terminal? None of us will have private transportation since we are either flying in or coming in via Amtrak. I think this is the most worrisome part of the whole trip.. Thanks! :)
ricksurf Posted October 10, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Have a look at http://WWW.SUPERSHUTTLE.COM and book a van for all six of you. The price will be much cheaper than the cruise line transfer.
roger001 Posted October 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) We used one of the major shuttle services to the port and back. Probably was SuperShuttle. They have a counter in the terminal. For whatever reason, the return trip to the airport was cheaper than the trip to the port. Oooops. Just noticed you will need transport from a hotel. They might still provide that...or check with the hotel. They usually have recommendations or preferred companies they use. gooch47 Posted October 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2015 We picked a hotel with a free shuttle to and from the airport, returned to the airport the morning of the cruise and caught the shuttle.
Nanners1955 Posted October 11, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted October 11, 2015 Appreciate the replies.. Since we will be traveling from hotel to port, it looks as if SuperShuttle will be the best way to go. Thought of using Uber but it might be a bit more expensive. Porterhouse248 Posted October 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2015 If you are looking for a bit more of a premium experience, you might want to consider ExecuCar, which is owned by the Super Shuttle company. They operate luxury sedans and full-size SUVs, as opposed to shuttle vans. We used them in Houston for transport to and from the airport/hotel/port and it worked great. Easy online booking and confirmation, with automatic payment via credit card. You pay more for ExecuCar's personalized service, but we felt it was worth the added cost. Just something you might want to consider.
nolatravelgirl Posted October 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2015 I am bit confused about where exactly this hotel is that is convenient to both the airport and the train station. Also note that there are two airports in Houston so be sure to be clear when booking any type of transportation.
