Jammy Bun Posted October 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2015 Have any of you sailed into Dublin on an Olsen ship? We've just added the 2 nighter sailing from Liverpool in December onto our Black Watch Christmas Canaries cruise. I'm not clear whether the smaller Fred ships will be berth at the port of Dublin, or nearer to the city centre... anyone know?

We sailed into Dublin on the Black Watch - I'm not actually sure of the name of the port; it was an industrial port & there was a shuttle bus laid on into the city centre which took about 15-20 minutes to get there. Hope this helps!
tring Posted October 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) We have docked in Dublin about 4 times, (2 or 3 with Fred), and I can confirm a shuttle bus is needed. I thought it was less than a 15-20 min journey, but will not split hairs over that. Once we did not particularly want to go into the centre so we just walked out of the port and along the river until we reached the edge of the city and then returned to the ship - it was a long walk - about an hour or so all told. Fred used to charge £5 for the shuttle ticket, but I do not know what is happening now that they say they will not charge for freedom fare and gold people should get free shuttles as well. Jammy Bun Posted October 13, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Thank you Julessmiles and Tring for your replies. I'll factor time for the shuttle bus into my planning schedule! Only a day there, and so much to see!
