PistolsFiring Posted October 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2015 I am trying to put together a list of scavenger hunt items for my kids and need things that are Magic specific and where they are located (things like the ships compass, anchor, etc.). My thoughts are to give them each a list each day and they take photos of the items. First to find all the items on that days list gets something like $20 for the arcade. I know they will be busy doing other stuff but want to have this in my back pocket just in case they get bored.
Gr8DanesMom Posted October 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2015 This is a fantastic idea! We are headed on the Magic on 11/29 for the first time on this ship. If you don't mind, I'm totally going to use this for my kids. LOL.
IPlayWithString Posted October 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2015 There is a sign on deck 1 that says "This way to gang plank (the bridgey thing to land)"...it always made me smile when I saw it on our cruise. I also believe there is a ship's coin welded to a wall up near the Waterworks area..like just behind it on Deck 11 or 12. Ask when you're onboard..they'll be able to tell you. :D
SadieN Posted October 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2015 The first time the ship sailed into a particular port. The plaques are on prominent display.

PistolsFiring Posted November 15, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Ok. T minus 7 days till embarkation and I have compiled 44 items. I decided to place a bounty on each item. This way the kids can hunt together instead of giving each a list and making them "compete". I'm not against competition but I know my 13yo would take off and leave the 9yo to fend for herself. The easy items carry a small bounty (typically $1) while items like a selfie with the Captain have big rewards ($10). If it goes as planned, they'll have fun, earn some spending money, and have a lot of cool memory photos at the end of the trip. Here is my list if any one is interested. 1. Ship on a Stick trophy 23. Polka dot bikini 2. Towel animal 24. Life boat capacity sign 3.Selfie w/Captain 25. Someone on Ropes Course 4. Carnival lanyard 26. Jelly beans 5. Drink umbrella 27. Someone in a Dallas Cowboys shirt 6. "Do not disturb" sign 28. A "Wheel Of Fortune" slot machine 7. The ship coin 29. The "Warehouse" (or arcade room) 8. The ship compass 30. A room service tray in the hall 9. Selfie with the "Whale Tail" 31. A souvenir cup 10. Golf ball 32. Someone under the "Dump Bucket" 11. Life ring 33. Elevators from the Main Lobby 12. A banana 34. Red Frog Pub chalkboard menu 13. Pizza 35. Plaque/award wall 14. Ice cream cone 36. A chandelier 15. Fun Times brochure 37. A "Sign & Sail" kiosk 16. Shrimp 38. Circle C/Camp Carnival area 17. The most expensive item in Fun Shop 39. The ship from a port 18. Deck of cards w/ship logo 40. The "movie screen" 19. Selfie w/Dr. Seuss 41. Your bed/cabin 20. Someone playing pool 42. An Anchor 21. Ice sculpture 43. "Cherry on Top" (ships candy store) 22. A decorated door 44. The "Slides"

I see modifying this list to make the hints a little harder, and maybe a prize of $50 to the winner.
ScottsSweetie Posted November 16, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 16, 2015 That's a great list! One note, though, on your Wheel of Fortune slot machine - kids are not really allowed into the casino, plus there are signs that say no photographs. Unless they can get this one on embarkation day it could prove difficult, or they could get scolded while trying to get it.

That can replace the slot machine.

mjallessio@gmail.com Posted March 25, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 25, 2016 I think this is a great idea. Just wondering if anyone else had luck with their kids enjoying this activity. I will have 2 15 Yrs B, 1 13YRS B and 1 12YRS G sailing with us.
