Hi. Can someone let us know the specifics for the Prohibition Party?

Don't know about the Allure but I will on the Oasis in a couple of weeks. The cost was about $35.00 a person. My understanding is if you choose dress up like Roaring 20s gangsters, molls, etc. You will get a card in your room with a "secret" password. To enter the event you whisper the password to a staff member and you will escorted to a secret entrance (Speakeasy) style.

Inside there will be music, snacks and drinks served in tea cups. It start's around 1030 PM and last about 2 hours.

Hope this helps.

We had a good time when we did this event a couple of years ago.

We went a few years ago. It was a good time. They had 3 different drinks all in the style of speakeasy drinks. I think one was similar to a Long Island iced tea but without a lot of alcohol. I didn't find the drinks very strong which if you think about it it is in style for the era.

The party itself was fun. They had some jazz. Had some staff walking around getting you up and moving. There are a few surprises in it too. I would recommend it especially if you don't have the beverage package. Most everyone dressed up which was easy as it was on the second formal night.

We went to the one on Oasis last week. It wasn't on a formal night (if I remember right, it was Day 4, after we left St. Thomas), so we had a larger percentage of people (around 25%) not in period dress. It was held at Jazz on 4 and we got to go in through a crew entrance. As others mentioned there were period cocktails served in coffee/tea cups. I'm no master of mixology but if I had to put my finger on what was served I think we might have had Sidecars and Bee's Knees. There didn't seem to be a limit and the bar staff was constantly circulating to switch out empty cups. There were also some finger foods but DW and I were still full from dinner and didn't partake there. There was dancing/dance lessons, the jazz quartet played some period standards, some games , and a costume contest. Overall it was fun and the cocktails were delicious. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

We did it on the Allure in '14. It was fun much like the pp described.

Would I do it again, maybe. It would all depend on what else was going on that night. It was worth the price, since it is limited amount of guests, ours sold out quickly.

As we discovered they do hold behind some reservations for people once they board. We had intended to purchase it and by the time we got around to it, it was no longer possible to book online. No problem, as soon as we got onboard, we went to guest services and asked and they had space for us and our friends we were traveling with.

Thanks, good to know. We aren't booking it online, only our 2nd sailing on the Allure /Oasis size, we had no idea last time how overwhelming it was. Nice to know if we decide we can run & book onboard. :)
