FLL -- Taxi or Transfer

My family and I (party of 4) are sailing on Carnival Liberty on 11/20. Any advice on taxi versus transfer? I know the transfer is $20 rt pp. Is cab fare any cheaper?

a cab will cost 20 bucks for the whole cab-- so if you have more then one person-- its cheaper by cabi

I would go by cab from Ft Lauderdale airport to Port Everglades. Don't worry...it will cost you no where near $20 for the ride!!!! Usually it's less then $12.

 

With the cab, you get in it and go. With the transfers you wait till the bus fills. Cabs not only more economical, its faster too. ;)

I completely agree with Bequia. It's so much easier to take a taxi. With the bus transfers, you have to wait until the bus is full, which could take hours sometimes, as people arrive at different times. We did this once (on our first cruise), but never again.

Even for cruise line assigned hotels with transfers, we always opt to take a

taxi rather than the bus transfer. The cost is really minimal and saves

a lot of time and aggravation!

Port Everglades is right next to the Fort Lauderdale Airport. Take a taxi.

 

For those of you renting cars prior to or after the cruise, Hertz runs a shuttle to the Port. Other agencies may also run shuttles - check with them.:)

Definately get a taxi. I'm assuming you are flying into FLL and the ship will be at the port nearby, Port Everglades.

 

Taxi fare for 5 of us this Aug. from FLL to the port was $12 plus tip and $9.50 plus tip from port to airport. Lots of taxis both at the airport and at the port.
