Lanky Lad Posted October 18, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2015 Where is the best place to view the ship and see the ship as it sails off when docked at the Ocean Terminal? I would recommend Town Quay for viewing ships from any of the terminals.
laktex Posted October 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Where is the best place to view the ship and see the ship as it sails off when docked at the Ocean Terminal? I would suggest somewhere along Weston Parade - there is a car park along there if I recall correctly.
pepperrn Posted October 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Where is the best place to view the ship and see the ship as it sails off when docked at the Ocean Terminal? Two of my favourites;1. Beyond the Ocean Terminal building itself, to the south, there is an open area where many times I've waved to friends on board as QM2 departs. Great place as you are so close to the ship. This is the area: (the Ocean Terminal is on the right out of shot) This is one view of QM2 from this area: 2. Hythe Pier is great for photos, although you're further away, hard to pick out friends, QM2 looks magnificent as she departs. Here is the view from Hythe Pier: Hope this helps. electra2008 Posted October 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2015 I would choose Hythe and they get a "Mini Cruise" also, somewhat down market😈 With the ferry ride. + a little train ride also goes along the pier return ticket only all inclusive
Pjran Posted October 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 24, 2015 Where is the best place to view the ship and see the ship as it sails off when docked at the Ocean Terminal? Hythe will give you full ship views but even better in my opinion is the 30 minute drive to Calshot. Drive into the Activity Centre at Calshot and you are close to the waters edge. I remember a few years back when I cruised without my husband he went to Calshot to wave us away, that was of course after he had taken us to the ship - he's well trained. I could see him waving from the shore.
