Excursion

We are first time cruisers and I am wondering about the snorkel and sting ray excursion in Grand Turk. The ship arrives at Port at 8:00 and our excursion is at 8:30. Is that enough time to get off of ship and to the designated area. With all the people exiting ship afraid we will miss it.

Most likely the 8:30 time is a meeting time for your group, probably in a lounge or the theater. Then your group will, again most likely, leave and meet up with your driver/guide on the pier. S/he will be holding up a sign with the name of your tour on it.

Don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of it.:D

Don't worry about timing when taking ship-sponsored excursions...Just meet at the appropriate time. If the meeting place is on the ship, they will get you off the ship on a timely basis. If the meeting place is on the pier, they will have made the meeting time appropriate for the docking time, etc. If docking is delayed, they will adjust the departure time. Just make sure not to try and "cut it close"...Get there early...If it is an early meeting time, get breakfast early in the buffet or by room service...then get going...

But no reason to worry much...

Ok thank you for your help...excited and nervous at same time

Don't be nervous...

There is a lot going on...but it is all relatively EASY...

The idea of a cruise is to sit back and have fun.

Unlike other vacations you may have taken, on a cruise, most of everything is well planned out and taken care of for you...

You don't have to worry about getting to a lot of places...or about where to go for dinner...or how to entertain yourselves at night or on days where you aren't in port...You can go to several places but only unpack once...

Every night, you will be given a full schedule of activities, entertainment, dining room hours, etc. Just scan through it and find what you want to do. Most activities, entertainment and food is included in your cruise fare. After a day or two, finding your way around the ship becomes easy...Elevators are well marked with which deck to find your venue. Deck Plans are posted all over.

You don't need to carry your wallet or money around with you. Everything on the ship, if at a cost, is charged to your room card. You can leave your wallet in your cabin safe and only take it out when you go into port.

People are generally friendly, crew members are generally helpful.

All YOU have to do is to get to the ship, get onboard...and relax...

Have fun...and welcome to the world of cruising...
