Schism Posted October 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2015 Hi all, I am curious about what to do on the port days. This is our first cruise and so hoping you can help. We were wanting a beach day, snorkel/catamaran kind of day and maybe shopping or ATV riding. One of these stops more ideal for snorkeling? Or does one have better beaches? Thanks for any input you may have!

Thanks for any input you may have! Welcome to Cruise Critic! :) Your very best snorkeling option will be on your port stop in St. Thomas with an excursion to St. John. When are you cruising on Emerald Princess? We'll be on Emerald in January ... maybe on the same cruise? LuLu
blue_water Posted October 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2015 Agree with choosing St Thomas for snorkeling, there is excellent off the beach snorkeling on the East End of STT, or you can ferry to St John if time allows. There are also several great day sails. Suggest you do some research here on the beaches and snorkeling options, and also on the forums for the other ports. Enjoy your first cruise! blue_water Posted January 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Crown Bay. Closest beach for beaching w/ amenities is Lindbergh Bay, for snorkeling you'll want to look at the East End beaches (Coki, Sapphire, Secret Harbor, for example). http://www.virginislandsthisweek.com/st-thomas/maps/st-thomas-island-road-map.html
