what happened to Thomson Majesty

Recommended Posts

The Madge left Corfu on Friday evening for its repositioning cruise to the Canaries. The ship tracker showed it heading south to Kefalonika. This morning the tracker shows it heading west from Kafalonika bound for ????. The prevoius track shows it looping into a bay on the island, slowing to about 5 knots and then moving away again and setting a course westward

Why?

On majesty now. We were approaching Kefalonia as we went for breakfast, then noticed we starting getting further away! Then came the dreaded announcement. Can't dock due to winds!! Spent the day at sea instead:( then arrived at Messina to torrential rain next day, squelched back to ship. Still trying to get things dry. Thankfully two warm days followed. First time on Thomson and asked a few questions, on here before cruise, one was about happy hour, but there hasn't been one:( not on the AI as it was £600 for the two of us!

the happy hour offer is (or was?) 2 cocktails for the price of 1 usualy available poolside sometime during the day? thats how it works on dream & celeb or at least it did last time i was on dream? (they dont always advertise these offers, they can spring up anywhere tbh) ........ not sure about spirit or maj? they are under different hotel management

there is a daily cocktail of the day at reduced price and sometimes a martini of the day too (but they contain 'cruise choice' spirits) so really only helpful to those on payg

i know there has been a lot of pushing to buy wine packages & premium ai upgrades recently?... maybe they have stopped the happy hour offers in the hope that more will by the upgrades/packages

afaik they still allow you to drink your own duty free in cabin (hopefully)

hope the weather hasnt put too much of a dampener on your cruise

Haven't been poolside so could have missed them. Have been able to buy the bottles and drink in cabin, very nice too. We have had some lovely weather since Messina so no grumbles there. Weather was fantastic for Capri, told hubby we were off to Anna Capri to go up mount Salerno on chairlifts!!! I can't type the expletives that he uttered! Once over the shock of being on these chairlifts he enjoyed the fabulous views.

In Gibraltar today and rock covered in low cloud so biding our time to see if it's worth going up. Having a very nice coffee in McDonald's so hubby can download his newspaper. Celebration is next to us- I hope that means there will be a sail way party.

how great for you that the weather has cleared up:cool:

the celebration must be on its repositioning trans atlantic cruise ... should be a lot of waving and cheering from the decks later ;):)

you can buy british newspapers in morrisons or in the newsagents in casemates square
