aussie57 Posted November 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Has anyone been in Dunedin on a Sunday? Just wondering if shops, cafes etc are open because a ship's in or if everything's closed. Last time we were there, there were some lovely craft markets at the Octagon as well, but we haven't been on a Sunday before.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted November 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Not everything will be open, but Dunedin has a rich Scottish Heritage and I don't think the locals will miss the chance of earning a few tourist dollars..:D:D 7 day trading is well established in NZ now , just as it is in Aus. diane.in.ny Posted November 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2015 There is some beautiful scenery around Dunedin. We've done both the cliff road out to the Royal Albatross Center and the Taieri Gorge Railway. You may want to consider those as an option. Opua Kiwi Posted November 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) The bars in the Octagon are open. The weather will be gorgeous, of course; ideal for sitting outside at the tables and people watching. (Free WiFi too) Even better to get into the mood before hand. A Speights brewery tour (book online for $28). A very good tour with tastings. Edited November 3, 2015 by Opua Kiwi
Brisbanelionsfan Posted November 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2015 We did the Speights tour a couple of weeks ago and can highly recommend it. They are not stingy with the samples either. Stayed tasting for about an hour and we were the first to leave! Cheers:D
