Suite 8630 on the Gem

Hi Everyone,

We are sailing on the Gem next Friday. We just upgraded to an aft penthouse suite.

 

I am hoping for some advice and tips on the suite life. I have never sailed in a suite before and don't want to miss out on anything I should take advantage of. (this may never happen again lol)

 

Anyone familiar with this room? Please tell me the balcony is worth it?

We sailed in 10166 on the Gem last summer. Absolutely loved the suite life!

 

The balcony on the 10th floor aft suites are huge! I know the 8th floor ones arent quite as big but I'm sure you will enjoy.

 

It was our first time with the suite life and at times i was unsure we would utilize all the services but it was nice. The butler brought me chocolate croissants every morning, ordered room service through him a couple times, and had him bring us dvd's a couple times.

 

Ill see if i can find a good pic of our room and balcony and come back and post.

I believe Bliss night club is directly below you. I'd look into that especially if you're a light sleeper. They may have loud music pumping into the night. Just something to consider so you're not surprised by it.

Wow thanks so much! The room looks pretty nice. Your balcony was really big I won't expect that but will still love being off the back of the ship.

Thanks for the heads up. I actually found a few reviews of these cabins and saw that the bliss noise surprisingly wasn't really an issue for them. It looks like Wed be right above the bowling which I think may be being removed during this current dry dock. So who knows what I'll be in for.

Maybe the engine noise will drown out the nightclub lol

I have stayed in room 8132 suite. 3 rooms from 8630. Balcony is the same size as any other balcony, maybe a couple sq. ft. more but not much, However the balcony is well worth it. I love the aft facing balconies. The ship can be underway and its not windy.

 

As far as noise from the bliss night club, we did hear a little bit of bass, but nothing that was real annoying.
