What is the Valor doing?

The Valor is on its way back to Miami. But it is taking a different route. Why is it doing this? Is there a special reason? I didn't think there was any hurricanes over there.

I don't know why but I live in s. Fl. and they have been talking on the news about a tropical depression forming in the caribean. Is it doing the western? If so, that is probably why.

i just got off the valor this morning. there was a medical emergency on board around 3pm yesterday, so the captain sped up the ship to get back earlier this morning. we ended up pulling into miami around 3-330 am. the reason we came back a different way than normal, was because we had a pretty rough ride on the way down, and the captain said during the debarkation talk yesterday that he chose the different path to try and give a smoother ride.

i loved the valor. it was my second cruise (first on the inspiration). i liked the ship better than the inspiration, but i didnt have as much fun. i think one of the huge reasons i loved the inspiration is because i had awesome tablemates at dinner, and on this cruise i was put with all old women (i'm only 23). there werent many people my age on this cruise, and i tend to think it was because of the time of year. when i went on the insp in jan 04 there were a lot of college kids. the service was great all over the ship, and the staff were constantly greeting the passangers. i've heard complaints on these boards about the pinkness of the dining rooms, but i thought they were great. i loved rosie's too. they usually had pretty good food, but sometimes things were a little cold. i went to the cholocate buffet yesterday, and wasnt too impressed. i thought the best chocolate item was the cake on the first nights dinner. the comediam allyn ball was hilarious, but the second comedian (cant remember his name) was so boring people were getting up and leaving. the far from over show on the second formal night was awesome. bingo was a big waste of money. you can buy one card for 10$ (and its usually for one game) or a three card pack for 20$. the guy who sings across from the casino at night was fantastic. in nassua we took a taxi to atlantis and went through the dig and aquariums for 29$. it was well worth the money. the aquariums were some of the best i've ever seen. we also walked all around the grounds and laid out on the beach for a while and no one noticed. we donated some money to the slot machines in the casino also. in st thomas we went to magens bay and paradise point - it was okay. in st maarten we went to divi little bay and had a blast.

if you have any questions, let me know.

jillian.

Jillian,

Questions about Divi Little Bay. Did you go on your own or thru Carnival? We are planning on going on our own and want to make sure we can use their facilities for free. We basically want to use the beach (is there a charge for chairs?), have some lunch and rent jet skis (I know there's a charge for them). Do you know what the cost is for the jet skis? Was the beach very crowded? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Jen

i went through the cruise ship to divi. it was either $37 or $40. you're there from about 9-930 am, till 130 pm. the excursion includes a barbacue lunch (your choice of barbacue chicken or babyback ribs, salad, cole slaw, some kind of green bean salad) that was really good. you also get two coupons for free drinks. you can get water, soda (coke, diet coke, or sprite), rum punch or beer. you can also get frozen drinks but you need to pay. beach lounges were included, but if you wanted an umbrella you had to pay (not sure how much b/c i didnt get one). there were nice, clean bathrooms, and a shower room, as well as an outdoor showerhead. there were activities and music. the one thing that bothered me a bit about the beach were the vendors constantly walking past you, asking if you wanted your hair braided, wanted to buy a necklace, bags, or beach dresses. i have no idea how much the jetskis go for, but i did see quite a few out in the water. also, the beach wasnt very crowded at all. if you want more info about going there on your own, i'd try the st. maarten cc message board, i found it helpful when i was planning what to do.
