Walmart prepaid debit card and Carnival's ATM

My niece will be going us on cruise on Carnival Breeze in a few weeks. She has her paycheck deposited into a Walmart prepaid debit card and will be getting paid two days into our cruise. The cards can no longer be used outside of the US. Has anyone cruised with one recently and used it at the ATM on the ship?

 

She used it over the summer on Fascination but she believes it was on the last day before getting off the ship.

Everytime I have withdrawn cash aboard the ship, my receipt and bank statement always reflected the withdrawal from Miami and I have never had any foreign transaction withdrawal fees. This leads me to believe that she would be ok withdrawing cash without any issues.

Thank you! She will be happy to know she won't have to change her direct deposit. She is able to get paid one day earlier with that card, hence the appeal. [emoji4]

And if it doesn't work, what is her backup plan?

Her regular bank card which her she keeps the rest of her money.
